Corporate social responsibility (CSR) is the statement which shows the relationship
between the business practices and society. It is the management concept where the firms are
incorporate with the social and environmental concerns. It is normally under the private firm
polices in which it is describe that how a company can manage their production process by
having a positive impact on the society. This report will describes the roles of Corporate social
responsibility which are employee engagement, environmental protection, sustainability and

are arranging programs for social and economical development of the country in an ethical way.

business model of company. CSR has an positive impacts on the factors like economical , social
and environmental, by increase the brand image of the firm which initiates the business owner.
It facilitates the prevention of financial ramification through an ethical self regulatory process
and maintains the positive image or reputation of company in the market (Schrempf-Stirling,
Palazzo and Phillips, 2016). The functions of CSR includes the anti corruption measures,
environmental protection and management, employees suppliers and customers relationship and
engagement.

are in current period takes an initiative aim to reduces their environmental footprints. For this
firms are takes a view with financially or environmental performance together in order to
increases in the social reputation of the firm. For reducing such carbon footprints organisations
are using slogan like “we green the earth” and performing the go green programs to enhance the
employment values prepositions (Aguinis and Glavas, 2019). Green peace mission, campaign
for strong laws on the environmental responsibility like Friends of the earth are some examples
of CSR initiatives which gives benefits to the community to save environment for creation of
healthy environment.
Johnson and Johnson are focused on reducing their impact on the environment from the
last three decades. This organisation takes an initiative for leveraging the power of the wind to
give safe water to the communities around the world wide. Johnson and Johnson are using
different strategies of CSR to reduces the pollution and remove the carbon footprints and
increases the social reputation of the company.

Corporate social responsibility is facilitating good image of company in the public and
the employees are generally enjoying to work with high reputed organisation which builds a
motivation among the employees (Schrempf-Stirling, Palazzo and Phillips, 2016). Workers are
working more effective for a good imaged firm in comparison to does not one. Furthermore, by
adapting and showing that the firm is committed with such CSR strategies which concerns with
the human rights and sustainable development of the community leads to attracts and retain the
human power of the company in more effective and efficient manner.
Google stands up against the social issues and performing the environmental friendly
activities such as stand against the anti Muslim comments and using less energy in comparison to
the other firms (Jamali, Karam and Blowfield, 2017). This CSR strategies adapted by Google to
renewable the energy projects and enables the other firms to reduces their environmental affects,
using of such Corporate social responsibility strategies are increase the image of Google which
facilitates more employees engagement in the organisation. The workers are enjoying their work

by knowing that the firm is performing the CSR initiatives for well fare of community and its
development.
CSR helps in data gathering:
Companies which are relates with the technology needs the high data gathering for the
public organisation functions (Unit, 2015). Firms are performing society well fare activities to
promotes the business and taking the competitive advantages over the competitors. Through
providing benefits in the social works and working with an ethical collection of data with using
CSR initiatives may prompts the organisation.
Firm like Intel and IBM are dealing in the information gathering and processing of data
which aid to the police departments by installing the cameras and an ability to set in the areas
where the rate of crime is very high (Brammer and Pavelin, 2016). Intel is conducting the
programs in which they educates the local public that how they use the technology to prevent the
crime and detects that who committed such crime. Such CSR initiatives is an examples of
technology firms that are implementing Corporate social responsibility initiatives for providing
benefits and supports to the community.
CSR is for human rights and corporate sustainability:
To convince the global firms to committed with the principle of human rights is one of
the CSR initiatives. It is the strategy of global compact in which in which the organisations are
committed to positioning their strategies and operations in according the areas of human rights

Starbucks is persuades the global firms to perform the business activities under the
principles of human rights. The firm is looking for the diversify their manpower and giving them
opportunities to develop their skills and makes them able to performing well (Yakovleva, 2017).

Starbucks has affianced to hire veterans as a activity of socially responsible efforts done by the
company. The firm is improves their labour policies to the well fare of the employees.
