Adult Gerontology Nurse Practitioner is very important because it aids in promoting health, preventing diseases as well as assisting patients to cope with sickness. I am applying to study in Penn nursing because it is constantly ranked the best in the nation. Penn’s innovative acute care program would align my clinical career objectives. The university would prepare me to properly manage patients with specialized health care needs. Studying in the university would also enable me to develop expertise in patient care management, perspectives knowledge, interventional procedures, diagnostic, and complex clinical decision-making crosswise the variety of acute care services. Similarly, the system in Penn University would provide me with an opportunity to focus in trauma, oncology, neurosurgery, cardiology, internal medicine, and general surgery. The university has a large network of highly experienced clinicians who will train me on the use of different technologies including immersive simulation which would offer me an opportunity to practice newly invented skills. Most importantly, the university would prepare me to sit for national certification from the American Association of Critical Care Nurses or the American Nurses Credentialing Center. It is important to note that after an efficacious completion of the certification would be eligible to become licensed or certified to practice. I choose to study in Penn University because of its hospitality as well as friendly environment. One of the motivations for submitting my application to Penn University includes the university’s coursework. Its program is founded on a curriculum which encompasses mentored clinical experience and theoretical content which emphasizes on holistic patient care and research within a collaborative and cooperative team approach (Zori et al., 2012). After graduating with Bachelors in Nursing, the idea of a Master’s degree floated in my head. I had always known my ultimate goal was to become a Nurse Practitioner. For five years I toyed with the idea of going back to school to obtain a Master’s degree thus driving me to make application to the Penn University. I have made the application at this time because I currently work at Penn Medicine. This would give time to attend classes and also attend to my patients.
