2APPLICATION FOR A SCHOLAR PRACTITIONER
As a scholar-practitioner, I am devoted to the well being of clients and colleagues, assist them
in learning novel, useful things and conceptualize their work concerning extensive
organizational, cultural and political aspects. I will ensure that everyone gets proper access to
healthcare service and maintain a state of optimal health(Waldenu.edu, 2020). I will help the
client in dealing with daily life problems along with diagnosing and treating mental,
emotional, behavioural health issues of patients. It helps to connect the breach between
academics and real world, by combining knowledge with practical application for solving a
particular issue.
I personally choose Walden University to pursue my carrer because it provides me a wider
community of career professionals, along with the opportunity to prepare myself as scholar-
practitioner so that I can bring out a positive social change. It will act as my centre for the
delivery of social change core services, and help me in applying ideas and knowledge,
strategies and action plans for promoting dignity along with development of community
members, organizations and academic institutions, which will further facilitate my
relationship and partnership with the community and organization for supporting initiatives
of social change and sustaining community-based research projects.
The vision of Walden University is to build a distinctly variable educational community
where only knowledgeable graduates can apply for providing an immediate solution for
critical societal challenges ensuring greater global good of the society. This inspired me a lot
as I also wanted to bring a change in the society and contribute to its wellbeing.
The School of Nursing (SON) delivers academically conscientious and cultural or contextual
educational programs for the students like me which enhances our critical thinking skills,
strengthen our abilities to select and implement evidence-based practices and provides us
adequate nursing knowledge to bring about a significant change in the society.

The vision of School of Nursing in Walden University revolves around nursing, health, and
related sciences which will alter the provision of nursing services among the healthcare
organizations for meeting the requirements of individuals along with local and global
communities. I am sure it will act as a lifelong learning guide at every stage of my career,
providing me online training and nursing programs, specializations and certificates stretching
from nursing education to nurse practitioner(Underwood et al, 2019). This programs will also
provide me fieldwork experience which will allow me to gather proper knowledge in the
work environment.
Moreover, Walden University will help me in incorporating social change by designing a
curriculum which will guide me in applying my knowledge and skills, spread my network
and go deeper in the required field of interest leading to a positive social change. I want to
foster positive social change in society by integrating the visions and missions of Walden
University. I want to apply my knowledge, experience and skills in the development of the
community and changing the way of living.
In conclusion, I would like to say that I always wanted to devote myself to social work and
contribute to the development of society. I believe Walden University will provide me with
adequate opportunities and resources, which will guide me in becoming a successful social
practitioner.
