INTRODUCTION
Climate change has been one of the most complex issues which the countries at global level
are currently dealing with. Furthermore, in light of various recent events in relation to
environmental damage, economies within every part of the world are working effectively
towards ensuring betterment in this issue (Nordhaus, 2015). Hence, the project below is based on
ambition of global climate policy, which covers its effective progression throughout the era,
appropriate and effective analysis of current state of the policy, as well as debating upon its
future functioning at global level.
MAIN BODY
Within the past, there have been many effective and essential climate change agreements,
which had several ambitions towards addressing the most necessary issue of climate change. One
such climate change policy has been Paris Agreement, which is an initiative under taken by
United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC). The agenda of this
policy was to encourage countries at global level to appropriately contribute towards keeping the
global temperature below 2 degree Celsius, as a response to the climate change (Falkner, 2016).
The reason for development of such a policy is that the climate has been degrading
overtime, despite countless strategies and policies adopted by different countries globally. Thus,
a unified ambition is required to be appropriately and effectively adopted by the world in order to
secure the natural resources of the planet, as well as enhance the scope of a better future.
However, the ambitions of this policy changed overtime to further solidify the policy to be
implemented in a long period of time. For instance, several negotiations in past years have been
held within UNFCCC, which addressed the policy appropriately. The very first aspect which
reflects the same is that after continuous bargaining and negotiations, it has been appropriately
discussed that that each and every nation globally would be required to abide by uniform
standards in terms of cutting up emissions from the world. Moreover, another change in ambition
is reflected through the decision of poorer countries getting help of richer ones in ensuring a
clean energy instalment throughout their nation. Hence, almost 200 countries came together
within UNFCCC to propose the above stated ambitions, which were negotiated and further
implemented within the overall plan. However, nations such as U.S. negotiated quite heavily due
