INTRODUCTION Nursing is a dynamic profession, which has lots of responsibility including proper care of people, medication, providing a healthy environment etc,In professional nursing, it is essential for nurses to be accountable for the responsibilities such as taking care of patients in more presided way and ensure roles that have undertaken by them. Therefore, nurses are required to make proper judgement or actions in best possible manner and maintain competencies while providing quality patient care services (Masters, K. (2018). It is essential to maintain standard of the nursing profession in more defined way in order to build trust and offer services in best effective way to individuals. Nurses are the key aspect of hospitality firm and the growth of this or medical institutions are based on the progression of nurses. The key role of nurses is to providing effective facilities and medication to the patients in respect to making improvement in their health condition. The key obligation of nurses is to develop good and healthy relationship with customers as to making their self comfortable and encourage them to improve their health condition. This report is based on the case study evaluation of Sydney grandmother, who died because of carelessness of nurse. The report contains the study of roles and functions performed by the nurses and the manner in which professionalism can be implemented in their practices to render good facilities to the users. MAIN BODY The case incident identifies that Sydney grandmother who died in the hospital due to lack of due care by the nurse. It has been seen that nurse Ascrushed three different types of oral tablet and directly put mixture into Sydney grandmother IV drip. This is the main reason behind the death of Sydney grandmother. It has been further prosecuted by functionary that, nurse breaches her duty as she was not performing her responsibility in appropriate manner to providing suitable care to the patients. After the injection of crushed tablets, the condition of the patients was not stable she complained with severe pain in her breastand the arms that lead towards major heart attack. As per the incident, it has been identified that nurse without checking the actual medicationcrushed three medicine (being tablets or parts there of) added about 10ml saline and drew the mixture into a syringe, before adding it to a Burnett containing 100ml of the 3
deceased's intravenous drip fluid and then attached it to Sydney Grandmother IV cannula which, in turn was inserted into her right arm. Nurse breaches her duty, in the manner of not checking the proper way of providing medicinestothepatients.NMBARegisteredNurseStandardsforPracticeoutlinesthe requirement for nurses to use best available evidence for safe, quality practice and to develop practice through reflection on experiences, knowledge, actions, feelings and beliefs (Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia. (2016).National Safety and Quality Health Service (NSQHS) standards developed by ACSQHC (Australian Commission for Safety and Quality in Healthcare) effectively evaluates requirements, which are undertaken by nurses as to effectively improve their practices and reduce the risk of a error or miss-happening which cause the reason of any one's death. As per accordance with The Five Rights of Delegation, it is effectively included that registered nurses are required to take use of critical thinking as well as professional judgement, in order to make sure the allocation of right task under right circumstances. In addition to this, it is necessary for the nurses to take care of patients in proper way and maintain friendly relation as to understand their actual situation and then offer them proper care. However it is essential for the nurses to follow the instruction provided by the professionals and make suitable use of available resources for at-least maintaining the critical situation of the patient. Along with this, in right circumstances it is essential for nurses to take decisions which leads towards the stability of patient's condition. In this nurses are required to analyse the patient's need and then offer right treatment with the help of allocation strategy.The main purpose, that professional standards reflect is realted to theProfessionalstandardsof care defines diagnostic, intervention and evaluation competencies. As per the above mentioned discussion, it has been identified bythat with Rapid and dynamic change in environment of nursing profession critical reflection as a one of the most important factor that play a role to shape nursing professionals within personal and professional manner (Kangasniemi, M., Pakkanen. & et. al. (2015). As with the help of this, nurses can able to overcome challenges which is related to their profession and can further provide effective care to patient. In this it is essential for nurses to have core skills in professional manner and play their role with experience and discovering personal as well as professional knowledge. nurses can effectively improve their practices. With the help of critical thinking approach, they can investigate, reflect, initiate, charge and review the information inan effective manner and can further take decisions in effective manner. CONCLUSION As per the above mentioned report, it has been concluded that there are certain types of skills that are requires to be undertaken by the nurses such as problem solving, communication in a passionate manner, through which they can conduct a professional nursing process in more reliable manner. Professional standard of care effectively reflects legal as well as ethical duties which are required to be exercise in nursing profession. In this there are different types of clinical policy statement, likewise clinical practice protocol, Standard of practice technical situation and standard, operating procedures. All these are required to be effectively considered, in the profession of nursing as with the help of this nurse can be able offer best effective form of treatment to patient even in critical circumstances. Thus, it is essential for nurses to undertake professional practice standards in their care process, as to promote and guide clinical practice. This will lead them towards commitment, dependability, confidence and responsibility towards their nursing profession and can further facilitate nursing towards ethical and honest profession. 5
