This report aims to outlining the areas that may be affected by bias. It will include explanation of meaning of generalisations, assumptions, and bias. It will also discuss generalisation might cause someone to act unfairly toward another person.

INTRODUCTION
This report aims to outlining the areas that may be affected by bias. It will include
explanation of meaning of generalisations, assumptions, and bias. It will also discuss
generalisation might cause someone to act unfairly toward another person.
MAIN BODY
It is identified that biases, stereotype and assumptions are like to be very common and
sometimes people do not understand the difference between these three kinds of writing.
These three elements are an important part of being an effective reader (Cooley, Brown-
Iannuzzi and Boudreau, 2019). It is identified that bias occurs in the process where a writer
writes or displays a partial prejudice against or for something, someone or some idea. It is
also found that sometimes biases are identified as indirect statements. Every person has some
biases which reflect opinions and outlooks about life. Assumptions are found to be the points
taken for granted by writers in an argument. These are generally not proven with evidence. It
is identified that every person makes assumptions on every day which are generally based on
culture, experience, beliefs and education. Assumptions are identified as facts, beliefs or
ideas which a generally taken for granted. It is also identified that assumptions may not be
stated explicitly but anyone can found in the underlying argument. It is also found that critical
thinking involves implicit assumptions or identifying assumptions. Generalization is found to
be a form of abstraction in which it is identified that common properties of specific instances
are created as general claims or concepts. When a person makes a statement about almost all
of the people or things then it generalizes. I identify two main areas in which I felt affected
by biases. The two areas are self-reliance and confidence.
Both biases and assumptions have a common link as they both occur in the human
mind. It is very important to be aware of biases. This is necessary to understand that biases
are always judgemental and there should be one person available who aims to be non-neutral.
It is necessary to understand that stereotyping makes people more likely to act badly. As
every people know that it is very difficult to deal with pervasive negative stereotypes. Due to
this, people are likely to cheat, lie, steal or endorse (Rogus-Pulia and et.l., 2018). It is very
important to understand that when people feel that they are being devalued then they will like
to add these types of activities. For example, a boss commented on a woman which is a racist
comment. It will result to do inaccurate work intentionally. It is also identified that because of
stereotypes, people lost many opportunities because of their nature.

CONCLUSION
It can be concluded from the above discussion that generally people are not
understanding the difference between biases, assumptions and stereotypes. In this report, it is
analysed that stereotypes might cause unfair acting by people toward other people. It is
suggested to make sure their words and actions which they used with people.
