With the advancement of technology, the use of CCTV camera has been used
dynamically for various reasons and at various platforms. The surveillance is strictly
maintained in order to provide security to the society (Ashby, 2017). However, there are
various arguments against the idea of encouraging CCTV camera. The system of surveillance
public CCTV act as a force multiplier and facilitates constant surveillance in different places
(Welsh, Farrington & Taheri, 2015). Following it, surveillance of the public places has
become the matter of high concern in the context of advocating privacy.
The essay focuses on to deliver the arguments that are raised regarding the installation
of surveillance public CCTV in public places. It is to mention that Cameras are the devices
that allow the government to watch the entire society, which might not be the matter of
problem , but if the system is guided and driven by wrong hands, then will led to disaster and
a commitment of illegal act. Following it, the essay provides the insights of arguments of
both the sides and develops the justification at the end of the paper regarding the installation
of surveillance cameras.
The security systems is one of the essential concerns that are taken care by the
government. The CCTV cameras provide evidences when any crime scene or any illegal act
happens (Welsh, Farrington & Taheri, 2015). However, it does not helps physically but based
on such footage, the police departments comes forward in action. There are various cases that
has been solved with the help of CCTV evidences. The usefulness of the surveillance
technology in resolving crime scene is quire evident in the course of post crime scene
investigation (Welsh, Farrington & Taheri, 2015). The effective systems involves the
monitoring of the plavce or the area by the trained staff, who screens the areas in order to
detect crimes (Ashby, 2017). Thereby, the systems integrate its function to be identified as
the part of law enforcement activities. However, the point is argued by emphasizing o the
statement that it is not as effective as the immediate actions taken by the police. It is the
police who remains outside on streets to prevent crime. Thereby, comparatively it is not that
effective. Following it, the argument is magnified with the ability of taking immediate action.
It is to mention, there are cases in which the cameras has been claimed to be false and
ineffective. Thereby, through the installation of these cameras, the hierarchal authority gains
the public trust through such useless systems. Such cases depends on the government how
they are willing to take care of the people and the society (Ashby, 2017). But the predominant
