1ARTName of the painting: Joan of ArcThe painting from the Metropolitan Gallery that I will review is Joan of Arc that wascreated by Jules Bastien-Lepage (French, Damvillers 1848-1884 Paris). The medium is oilcanvas. The dimensions of the painting are 100x110 in (254x279.4cm)Top three elements- Elements in a painting indicates to the tone, texture, colour, form,shape and composition of the art. This work belonged to the Impressionist era and the top threeelements in this masterpiece painting are tone, form and shape. The notion of studio lit andstaged scene is prominent in the painting (Wheeler and Charles: 78-102). Regarding the tone ofthe painting there was a kitsch holy glow that was exuded by the figure of Joan of Arc. Inaddition, there is an eerie silence that is quite yet rapturous.
