Profile
I am a current Bachelor of Nursing student at the University of Western Sydney. I also have a
certificate III in Aged care from the Australian Education & Training Institute achieved in 2014,
and a bachelor’s degree in business studies which I completed in 2013. I also have workplace
trainings I first aid, elder abuse, work health and safety, living environment infection control,
aggression minimization and hazardous manual tasks. I an empathetic listener with effective
communication skills since I take time to listen to patient issues before I can make conclusions. I
am also an energetic and hardworking person with the passion to work in a caring environment
which provides the opportunity to meet the healthcare needs of the aged population which is seen
in my effort to achieve the required quality of care of the patients that I care for. These abilities
are complemented with my three years’ experience as an assistant in nursing aged care that have
led to accumulation of primary care knowledge in the nursing area. I am currently working with
Baywater Garedns, Abbotsford since 2017, I also worked with Ainsley Nursing Home, Burwood
and Opal Cardinal Freeman, Ashfield in the past. My passion and dedication for work at Ainsly
Nursig Home led to the integrity award which I was awarded for being the best employee. This is
also related to my long-term career objective with the focus to specialize in gerontology. The
second principle of the NMBA requires that the nurse applies person centered care for nursing
practice and decision making when dealing with patients (NMBA, 2016). This means that I have
to acquire these capabilities by the end of my degree to be able to work well in the aged care
clinical environment.
