Introduction:
Addiction of children towards electronic gadgets like iPhone, tablets, is one of the most
discussed issues to the child-psychologists, doctors all over the world. According to the experts
smartphones, powerful electronic gadgets radiate magnetic waves that affects human beings,
especially children, multiple ways. The purpose of this study is to delve deep into the negative
health impacts of excessive mobile addiction and Apple’s initiatives in this regard; as depicted in
the article: “Apple needs to stop kids from getting hooked on phones”.
Critical analysis:
Identification of Author’s thesis:
In this article the author attempted to depict the impact of the digital technology on
children. In this context, information reveled in the State of World Children, UNICEF has been
focused. Further this article has reckoned at the severe health issues ranging from concentration
issues, problem in face to face interaction to loss of weak eyesight and obesity, which are
observed among children addicted to mobile phones. The final focus of this article was on the
demand of the Apple’s shareholders that the tech-manufacture giant should incorporate stern
initiative to restrict the usage of Apple iPhone as well as tablets by the children.
Summary, author’s opinion and Personal Experience:
In this article, the author with reference to the information reveled in the State of World
Children, UNICEF highlighted the issue of excessive usage of mobile and tablets by the children
at the very early phase of their lives, say 2 years. Children who at the age of 2 years use mobile
tend to be bewildered by the features lights color and sounds of the mobile and stare at mobile
constantly. This o not only impede the normal development of the cells of their eyes, but also
