Introduction
The Internet Technology has become much more advanced now than it was at the
time it started being used in different aspects of the industrial world. It has been identified
that the advancement of the technology has not just impacted the different aspects of the lives
of human beings, but it has also tried to enhance the daily organizational works. The impact
has reached such a huge arena that there has just not been just a single impact on any specific
industry, but the impact has been irrespective of any specific industry for different purposes.
This critical review would thus be focused on an article that has been developed keeping in
mind about a specific tool called WRAP or Web Resource Appraisal Process that enhances
the critical thinking of the students in healthcare education (Eales-Reynolds et al., 2012). This
innovative web 2.0 tool has been described in details in this particular article which would be
critically analysed in this following report.
Background description
The article focuses on the enhanced situation in the healthcare education solution
systems when the technological changes have brought about numerous challenges with the
impending changes in the technological age. The overload of information was one of the
most common things to find out as a recurring challenge, as well as the problems that the
healthcare educators had while maintaining their knowledge for research and the specialities
of the research knowledge to keep intact. This is why, the article was focusing on the
perspective of the students over the acceptance of the web 2.0 tool of WRAP. This has been
the reason why the development of the research was conducted with the adoption of research
methodologies and the different ways of conducting a survey through which several
healthcare students were asked about the adoption of WRAP and how it has been in hunting
after modify the critical thinking of their development in in understanding. This has also
presented results according to the thoughts put forward through the questionnaires by the
students about the utility of the technology and how frequent do they use it for helping them
develop their own critical thinking skills for how they feel that they would be facilitated with
the use of WRAP.

Background of the research
The research was formulated to understand how technology has been revolutionizing
all the fields of education, especially the field of healthcare studies. This is to specify the fact

that healthcare studies is the basic phase where students would turn out in future as healthcare
professionals. As a healthcare professional it is required that a person goes through several
situations where their critical thinking abilities would help them find out the solution of a
complex problem or any problem with the input of information would be too much for a
human mind to integrate and provide a solution (Roberts et al., 2016). Therefore the need to
identify the use of the technological advancements so that it can be further enhanced as a
procedure to facilitate the enhancement of critical thinking skills for the students. Critical
thinking is also necessary as a student might not perceive how health care professional would
be in various situations where input of information and data as well as their synthesis for
providing a particular solution would be extremely difficult with the use of the human mind
and not involving any technology a technological advancement. There is a tool available for
helping with the critical thinking of the healthcare professionals that can be included within
the curriculum of the healthcare studies to help the students understand the utility of the
system as it had been provided by Web 2.0. The technology of WRAP was built upon this
primary idea. This is why the few implementations of the technology in several healthcare
education centres made the researchers go through a process where a set of questionnaires
would decide if a student would like to involve into you are utilising the system to help their
critical thinking skills be much more benefited with the help of authoritative evidence and
ample information.
Research Objective
The objective of the research project was entirely built upon the idea of finding out
the perception of the health care students and their utility of the web 2.0 based tool, known as
WRAP. it is also known as web resource appraisal process which has been designed for
supporting the critical thinking skills that any e healthcare professional needs to developed at
the initial stages of their health care trainings to identify how their own critical thinking skills
are and how it can be benefited with the utility of the tool and correct resources with the
cross-disciplinary development of web resource appraisal processes.

The research paper did not ideally specify any research questions, how but they had
the objective of the idea that help in developing the questionnaires through secondary data
collection. All the questions were built for the survey, and it was made up to formulate the
perseverance of the health care students and find out how authentic would be the assessment

healthcare professionals.
However it was required that the researchers prepared a proper research question so
that it could have been understood by any reader going through the article to understand what
are the main features that it has to be looked up for a solution so that the answer to the entire
research would be gathered from them or by answering them.
Conduction of the research
The research was conducted with the help of questionnaire set by the researchers and
obtain the answers by mixed methods in a two-phase action research study. The first phase
regarded of the perceptions of every student utilising WRAP true answers of end by course
feedback questionnaires. This further was modified to the development of a subsequent
questionnaire that would be further used for serving the perception of every student using the
online resource for determining the validity of their approaches considering the ease of access

of the questionnaires where feedback were taken from students who are already using the
web-based 2.0 tool called WRAP. they founded very instructive and useful however they
needed to work on it more to understand it completely as the health care facilities are fully
understood by them, the only exception being the form of technology that are only known to
them at a very basic level.
Significance or implications of the future research or management practise
The research is extremely necessary for the future as well as this research has the
ability of determining how the healthcare professionals would find themselves in situations
that critical thinking and their enhanced skills would be useful for taking any decision for
analysing a situation. If there would not be comfortable with the technological advancements
that has been made so far in the industry, it would be a disadvantage in the competitive

market. If it is understood how usable these technologies are for the healthcare professionals,
it can be included in the healthcare curriculum studies.
Critical Evaluation
Agreeable and disagreeable points in the article
There are mostly agreeable points in this research than disagree will points. The
research specifies that it is important for healthcare students to understand basic level of
integration of data and utilising the latest technologies that would provide them with
competitive advantage in their careers and also in the healthcare industry for providing better
services to the patients (Zhang et al., 2015).
Strengths and weaknesses of the article
The only weakness that has been found in this article is the absence of a proper set of
research questions that would help in understanding the solution to the questions for finding
out the overall solution of the problem. The problem has been ambiguous somewhat because
of this problem. The strength of the article would be the way that it has been conducted and
the chronological processes conducted one after another.
Overall impact of the article
The impact of the article overall is extremely effective as this article makes it easier to
understand how important it is to have a proper view about health care professional,
healthcare studies and the importance of technology in the healthcare industry. It also so is
important in specifying how the healthcare students perceive the importance of understanding
technological advancements to enhance their existing skills and further improve the way of
learning these (Rusu & Tudose, 2018). The usability of the technology can only be useful for
an industry if the people within the industry particularly understands how it can be used
effectively for the benefit of both the industry and the service provided to the patients.
Conclusion
Therefore, in conclusion, it can be said that the conducted research and the critical
thinking as per the review of the article has been presented for the better understanding of the
viability of the research project. It has also been identified in the research that the
constructive model of the learning outcomes, the teaching strategies and the assessment
methods have been aligned and all design for or only one purpose, which is the
encouragement of learning of an individual student. This can be characterized by trying to

implement processes that would ultimately help in in determining the enhancement of the
traditional processes of learning and also help in in the benefit to the learning of the student
happening in a much more simple and interactive process. Just as important is the learning of
the healthcare students about health care facilities and other topics related to the subject, it is
also similarly important for healthcare student to understand the complexities of the situation
that a healthcare professional might be in.
