1SUMMARY OF ARTICLE Background Generalized anxiety disorder is the cause of behavioural change resulting in cognitive impairment. To solve the issue cognitive behavioural therapy is given to patients undergoing suchanxietydisordertomakethempsychologicallystableandreplacethemaladaptive behaviour. In the study it was known that interpersonal therapy is effective in dealing symptoms of depression. Therefore, it can be said that association of both intervention will increase CBT effectiveness. Methodology The method used is experimental study where 36 students suffering GAD were divided into three groups, out of which one group was control with no intervention and 2ndgroup was given CBT and 3rdgroup underwent both CBT and IPT. They were asked to complete the Penn state worry questionnaire and Oxford happiness inventory. Changes in behaviour of each individual was noted in different sessions. Result The result was analysed statistically and found that treatment with the combination of CBT and IPT were more effective and have long-term effects in treating the peoples who have GAD. However, the group receiving CBT and combination of CBT+IPT do not show any significance in worry and happiness, but difference was seen in the follow ups in pathological worry and happiness.
2SUMMARY OF ARTICLE Implication The result of the research give implication for improving the health status of people suffering from GAD. The combination of both CBT and IPT intervention can be made practical in every health care sector for lowering the emergence and rate of GAD in the growing population.
