Introduction:
The aim of this paper is to discuss the article by Andrew Ng about the first project of
the companies associated with artificial intelligence and what factors can affect the successful
implementation of the AI in the companies. Artificial intelligence has the capability to
produce a huge production within a limited period of time. Therefore, it has become one of
the most effective element for the business process of the time. This paper will form four
question from this particular article named ‘How to choose your first Artificial Intelligence
project?’ published in February 6th, 2019. Then this paper will be finding out the answers of
these question through analysing the article along with some other literature on the same
topic. The usefulness and efficiency of artificial intelligence has been detailed in this article
which will be analysed in this paper.
Theme 1: why AI is being used in the companies’ such extensively?
The artificial intelligence have become one of the most effective drivers of business in
todays’ competitive world. This empowers the employees, the production and other
department by automating the tasks in an extensive manner. According to Andrew Ng, it is
used in the non-internet companies in a most demanding manner like in the agriculture,
energy, manufacturing and education. Artificial intelligence has supported the growth of
retail and manufacturing sector where the Machines and produce more goods then and the
human workforce. Similarly in the billing and accountancy section artificial intelligence is
more apt and errorless. This is the reason why in many companies as mentioned in the study
of Pan (2016), different tasks are done by artificial intelligence where more subtle and careful
surveillance is needed. However according to the author in every cases the artificial
intelligence cannot take the place of the human workers because they are involved in in
designing, planning and decision making process which a machine cannot do to. Therefore

the author has recommended the first user of artificial intelligence projects to break the entire
job into some tasks which can be done separately by the artificial intelligence. In addition to
this, to Eliot (2017) AI has shown a huge importance in the car manufacturing industries
where the artificial intelligence has reduced incidence of accident or mishaps. Therefore the
companies are prone to use artificial intelligence in in some very important departments and
replaced the human were force to make the work more efficient.
Theme 2: what factors are to be understood for utilising the artificial intelligence in the
projects?
According to Andrew NG there are five traits of artificial intelligence technology which the
business management can customise according to the needs of their business. On autopilot
projects actually aims to create value so that the stakeholders can get convinced for the
further use of artificial intelligence in the business law or build up the artificial intelligence
capabilities of the company. First of all the company needs to check whether the first
Artificial Intelligence pilot project gives quick success so that the stakeholders and other
departments get convinced with the small projects in doing tasks. Secondly according to the
author the project must not be very big or valuable because it does not matter in the case of
using artificial intelligence project for success. This should be meaningful and more accurate
recognition in the company’s business. According to Müller and Bostrom (2016), the future
progress of artificial intelligence has enhanced the scope of the business in such a manner
that every one of the companies are using AI projects in small scale and implement those in
big scale in different departments.
Thirdly the artificial intelligence must be very specific for the success of the project so that
the stakeholders understand the capabilities matching Expectations of the business and use
