This report analyzes the strategies, organizational structure, and government role of five Asia Pacific multinationals: Mitsubishi Corporation, Toyota, Samsung Electronics, TECO, and Huawei Technologies. The report provides insights into the core capabilities of these companies and the role played by the government in their operations. The report also includes a brief overview of the companies' corporate structure and the strategies they have implemented to achieve success.

The report has helped in the overall analysis of the different kinds of multinational
companies of Asia-Pacific regions which have been successful in the different kinds of
operations in the entire world. The role of the government officials along with core
capabilities of the firms have been analyzed in an effective manner. Furthermore, the
different kinds of analysis have been done in which this has been analyzed and seen that the
organizational structure of the different firms have been taken into consideration which

Introduction
Asia is known to obtain more than one-third of the entire number of big organizations
which operate in the world. This is the major reason behind the position that has been
achieved by Asia based in the members list of Global 2000. The multinational corporations
that operate in Asia have acquired around 600 spots in Global 2000 based list. The
multinational corporations which belong to Asia have also started increasing largely from
2003. The different multinational corporations which are a part of the Asia Pacific have
thereby started gaining global spots in different surveys.
Asian multinational organizations have thereby attained a position in Fortune Global
500 list. Around 40% of the total number of organizations from Asia Pacific has created a
position in Fortune 500 list. The companies which belong to America and Europe have on the
other hand have obtained 28% and 30% in this list. The organizations which are a part of
different global lists are led by the financial institutions based in different countries of
Asia( Agyapong, Ellis and Domeher 2016).
The analysis made in the report will be related to different factors which are related to
five different multinational organizations that have their bases in Asia Pacific. The companies
which have been considered for the analysis are, Toyota, Samsung Electronics, Huawei
Technologies, TECO and Mitsubishi Corporation.
Mitsubishi Corporation – Japan
Strategy implemented by Mitsubishi
Mitsubishi is a multinational organization that was established in Japan in the year
1917. The company has thereby developed the position of sixteenth largest producer of cars
in the world. The three different varieties of products which are manufactured by Mitsubishi
include, commercial vehicles, economy cars and automobiles. The strategy based on

segmentation targeting and positioning is used by the organization. The groups of customers
are divided with the help of different factors which are demographic, geographic and
psychographic segmentation (Bedford 2018). The strategy based on target market has also
been applied by the company so that effective products can be provided to consumers.
Mitsubishi has applied the cost leadership strategy so that the operations can be profitable in
nature (Asseraf and Shoham 2015).
Corporate structure of Mitsubishi Corporation
The organizational structure of Mitsubishi is hierarchical in natured and the base of
the company is located in Japan. The subordinates of the company are different entities which
operate under Mitsubishi Corporation (Black and Morrison 2014). The process of decision
making of Mitsubishi is thereby based on top level of management and the employees follow
the instructions which are provided accordingly. Culture is an important part of the operations
of Mitsubishi Corporation in the industry, which is based on the ways by which the
employees report to managers of the company (Chen et al. 2015).
Core capabilities of Mitsubishi Corporation
The base of Mitsubishi Corporation is located in Japan and the operations are based
on the expansion in different areas by the assistance which is provided by global and local
shares of the company (Cruceru and Moise 2017). The most important part of the success
which has been gained by Mitsubishi in the industry is based on six capabilities which have
been gained in the industry. The six different competencies of the company thereby include,
sales based channels, direct communication made with the consumers, optimum levels of
service and support based networks, huge size of product portfolio, approach based on
innovation and huge portfolio of products (Deng et al. 2018).

Role played by the government in operations of Mitsubishi Corporation
The government of the country has been able to play an important role in
development of growth and operations of Mitsubishi in automobile industry. The
organization has thereby depicted high amounts of growth by merging its operations and
acquiring different organizations based on its requirements. The mergers were provided with
effective levels of support from the government (Mitsubishicorp.com 2018. ). The
profitability based levels of Mitsubishi were thereby affected by establishment of different
competitors in the industry. The operations of the company were also diversified in an
effective way which was affected by the government in a huge manner.
Toyota – Japan
Strategy implemented by Toyota Corporation
The marketing based strategy that has been implemented by Toyota is based on
penetration pricing which has played a major role in development of its share in the market.
The main purpose that laid behind effective implementation is based on increasing awareness
about the products and further entering the market with the help of its products. Toyota has
thereby aimed setting prices for the products which are lower as compared to its competitors.
The strategy related to guerrilla marketing has been implemented by Toyota in the industry.
This is considered to be a new marketing strategy which can has been implemented by the
company for operating in a profitable manner.
Corporate organizational structure of Toyota Corporation
The organizational structure or hierarchy of Toyota is based on large number of
business based units which are operated by the organization in different parts of the world.
The structure which is thereby implemented by the company is hierarchical in nature and the
goals and strategic aims are also effectively supported by the structure of business. The

success levels and effectiveness of Mitsubishi is based on effective maintenance of the
functions and achievement of the goals as well.
Core capabilities developed by Toyota Corporation
Toyota Corporation has also been able to develop some core capabilities which are
based on different set of the resources which are possessed. The capabilities have played a
major role in the strategy and performance of the company. The environment in which
Toyota operates is also highly competitive in nature and the resources are able to differentiate
the operations of the company from its competitors. The different resources which have
thereby been gained by Toyota mainly include, physical resources, intellectual capital,
financial resources and human resources.
Role played by the government in operations of Toyota Corporation
The government of Japan has played a pivotal role in effective development of
infrastructure of automobile industry. The organization was capable of serving the local
consumers in an effective manner from the years 1970 to the year 1990. The growth and
development which has been showed by the company is thereby supported effectively by the
government of Japan (Toyota-global.com 2018). Asia had faced high levels of financial crisis
in the years 2008 which had immense effects on the operations of Toyota Corporation. The
government had thereby provided effective levels of support to the company in order to
provide products to consumers.
Samsung Electronics - Japan
Strategies implemented by Samsung Electronics
The most important parts of strategies which have been implemented by Samsung are
related to the development and growth of the company in technology industry of the country.
There are different kinds of needs which are changing in nature which plays an essential role

for the growth of the Samsung Electronics. Samsung is being able to spark in terms of the
innovation and not the satisfaction of the different needs of the society. The respective
strategy helps in building the proper trust along with building of relationship which helps in
development of the bond among the different customers in the market.
Corporate Structure of Samsung Electronics Organization
The structure of the organization which has been developed by the company in the
entire technology related industry is based on the various kinds of techniques which is
inclusive of the different techniques such as division of labour, command chain,
decentralization along with centralization.
These are the different kinds of elements which are being combined in an appropriate
manner which helped in developing the organizational structure of Samsung. The structure of
organization named Samsung is developed in such a manner which is being directed by CEO
of the organization as he is the commanding officer of the organization. There are various
heads which is inclusive of the department of technology, research along with development
based on department along with marketing and finance department (Wilden and Gudergan
2015).
Core Capabilities of Samsung
There are different major capabilities of Samsung that have been developed by
Samsung in the entire competitive industry which is being based on the different skills along
with expertise which can be gained by the different employees working in the organization.
This will be beneficial for the organization which will help in development of the strategies
which will help in managing the different needs of the customers in an effective manner 9

The different kinds of core competencies are inclusive of the different kinds of
creative solutions, exceptional kind of products along with the new technologies. This will be
helpful for the organization in order to develop innovative culture which will be beneficial for
the growth of the organization in an effective manner. The diverse along with the
multicultural environment along with the employees are hereby helpful in development of the
effective kind of value for the different customers.
Function of Government in Samsung Electronics Related Operations
Furthermore, this can be analysed that Samsung can gain huge kind of support from
the different government officials who helped the company in becoming effective towards the
different operations which are performed by them. The different kinds of goals which are
being based on the usage of the renewable resources are based on the overall commitment of
the company towards the environmental kind of responsibility. The effective kind of
infrastructure of the organization is helpful in affecting the proper operational plan
development and this increases the overall efficiency of the different operations of Samsung.
Teco- Taiwan
Application of Strategy by TECO
TECO Electric & Machinery Co. Ltd is one of the organizations which was
established in the year 1956 and this has evolved into the big kind of business group in the
present scenario. The respective organization helps in the manufacturing of the different
equipments which are electric in nature along with electric components of Information
Technology and they are operating in more than 100 cities in the entire world. The respective
organization tried to develop the core business activities in such a manner which will help in
adding value to the customers purchase. The strategy which has been developed by the

company helps in providing the different customers with help of smart kind of products and
services and the process of expansion of the high technology related business as well.
Business Organizational Structure of TECO
The organizational structure which has been implemented by TECO is departmental
structure which helps in providing the different kinds of goods and services to the customers
in an effective manner. The different kinds of departments of TECO are inclusive of the
system automation, motor and M&E construction along with the home appliances department
which will help in managing the different kinds of operations of the organization in an
efficient manner (Teco.com 2018).
Main Capabilities of TECO
There are various main capabilities of TECO which is inclusive of the transformation
that has been faced by the company and this is related to the different kinds of global
operations along with generation of high level of the competitiveness of the firm in an
efficient manner. The different departments of the organization specialise in the selling of the
different kinds of products and services which will be beneficial for the overall success of the
firm in an effective manner. The global presence of the organization has helped them in
becoming competitive in their approach and gain more success in the future (Vogel and
Vogel 2006).
Implications of Government on TECO Operations
There are various implications of the government on the different kinds of operations
of TECO wherein this can be noticed that a separate department or committee has been
created by the respective organization in which this can be analyzed that the government has
helped in supporting sustainability in an efficient manner (Kelly et al. 2014). The innovation
along with the growth related activities that are being performed by TECO is provided with

the proper and effective level of the government support and this has helped the company and
government in managing the different operations in a successful manner as well (Close and
Askew 2017).
Huawei Technologies – Japan
Application of Strategy by Huawei
Huawei Company has their presence in more than 150 countries in the entire world
and they have the proper capability and potential in serving more than one third of the entire
population in an efficient manner as well (Huawei.com 2018). The respective company is one
of the most effective kinds of telecommunication companies which has helped the entire
world by providing the different services which are successful and this has helped in gaining
competitive advantage in the overall market as well. The strategy which is based on the
proper segmentation, targeting and positioning which have been implemented by the
organization has helped them in operating in the overall telecommunication industry and gain
more competitiveness in the entire market as well (Poisson-de Haro and Bitektine 2015).
There are different group of customers who are being divided into various kinds of
segments which is inclusive of demographic, psychographic and the geographic kinds of
strategies which will be beneficial for the overall success of the firm in an efficient manner.
The strategy which is based on targeting has assisted the respective organization in
differentiating the overall process and gain more competitive advantage in the overall market
as well. The strategy which helps the users and provides them with unique kind of value is
essential in gaining competitive advantage in the overall market as well (Tabak 2017).
Organizational Structure of Huawei
The structure which is being followed at Huawei is hierarchical in nature which
helped the company in becoming profitable in nature. The different kinds of decisions which

are being taken by the organization along with the different higher officials are required to be
followed by the middle and lower level employees working in the organization in an efficient
manner. The respective kind of structure is being followed which helped the company in
maintaining proper relationships and this helped in implementing the decisions which is
effective in nature.
Main Capabilities of Huawei
The different kinds of core competencies and capabilities of the company are the
various kinds of resources which is helpful in becoming competitive in their approach. The
financial capital of the company is huge in nature and this has been possible with the
implementation of proper enhancement of the technological advancements which will be
beneficial for the success of the organization effectively. The organization tried to employ
more than 20000 employees and this has proved that the company is effective in nature in
becoming more effective in their operations as well (Close and Askew 2017).
Implications of Government on Operations of Huawei
The solution which is based on ICT is the one which has been taken by the
government of Huawei and this is highly effective in the overall functioning of the company.
The secured kind of operations of the government at Huawei has helped them in becoming
more effective in their approaches and this is helpful in becoming more effective in the
approach which is essential for gaining competitive advantage (Newby 2018).
Conclusion
Therefore, this can be concluded from the above that the different kinds of
multinational companies in Asia-Pacific regions have been able to become successful in the
different kinds of operations which are being performed by them. The structure of the
companies played a major role in becoming more effective towards the approach and this

helped them in becoming successful in the different operations which are being performed by
the companies efficiently.
