This project focuses on the implementation of Chinese herbal medicines, in the form of a CM treatment modality, with the aim of decreasing childhood obesity prevalence among 8-12 years aged children in Adelaide. The strategies include subjecting the children to a CM intervention based on the application of Xin-Ju-Xiao-Gao-Fang (XJXGF) herbal formulation. The objectives are to reduce the prevalence of obesity, increase understanding on obesity and its self-management, and help children adhere to healthy lifestyle habits. The effectiveness will be evaluated by measuring BMI and health parameters.
