INTRODUCTION
The business environment is changing at rapid scale and it is becoming crucial to focus on
new changes so that goals are accomplished. Community engagement refers to procedure of
working as a collaborative team and with group of people. Moreover, with this engagement it is
easy to access new opportunities (Bellion, 2020). This is necessary to be well aware about the
market situation so that it easy to make effective decisions. In this contemporary business
environment, information and data is critically to be known so that marketing and other procedures
are done in efficient way. Main aim of this report is to understand the importance of community
engagement in business sector. UNICEF, a social service organisation headquartered in United
States of America. This organisation main purpose is to provide social services to children and their
standard of living. It was only on 11th December 1946 and has many series like UNICEF Australia,
UNICEF Ireland and many. This report is based on community engagement within business
environment.

Community engagement is to be defined as process by which mutual collaboration and
cooperation is carried out with aim of achieving of goals in time period. In this competitive market,
it is essential to adopt this concept of community engagement as because it helps in reaching to
goals in appropriate manner. Main benefit of this process is that it leads to changing the mind set of
organisation as it promotes and help in engaging with subordinates as well as other people in better
way. By use of best practices in community engagement, it is easier to enhance as well as increase
the efficiency level within business environment. Through accessing to these best practices
organisational goals can be accomplished within time period (Cherrington, 2019).
In business and projects, it is necessary to be aware of the correct type of engagement so
that all objective are achieved in considerable manner. Furthermore, a detail analysis is being
applied on basis of which it is easy to make decisions in correct way.
In relation of UNICEF, it is multinational firm and has wide number of employees all over
the world. It is important to focus on working with team and group so that it is easy to access the
new business opportunities. Practices are crucial in business without which this is difficult to make
decisions in appropriate manner. Manager as well as leader of UNICEF, makes assure that every
employee in enterprise work with team and ensure that it is easy to achieve set objectives.
Moreover, it is analysed that a proper internal and external analysis is needed on basis of which it is

easy to increase the group work. In business sector, relevant information is needed so that entity is
able to access to correct procedures.
Advantages of community engagement
 Main benefit of community engagement is that by accessing to group work, organisation is
able to access competitive benefit which is needed at all aspect. In context of UNICEF, they
too execute their business activities with proper consideration of working as a team and
group.
 Another advantage of this process is that through this use of this process, it is easy for
UNICEF to enhance the relationship between the both employer as well as employee. Also,
it is analysed that a correct kind of strategies are needed so that benefits are achieved.
 Further advantage is that it assists in improving of work effectiveness and also results in
dealing with issues and problems in proper manner. When numbers of people are involved
in it it become easier to generate more new ideas and produce solutions (Cook, 2017).
Limitation
 Limitation of community engagement is that it impacts on providing comfort to employees
and also it too affects their work motivation level. Due to delivering of support to
subordinates can affect their efficiency level.
 Another drawback of this procedure is that it is time consuming procedure and it affects the
business operations of UNICEF at wider scale. Also, this is stated that it can leads to many
conflicts if not done properly.
Therefore, it is critically analysed that correct type of evaluation is required to be done so
that it further results in accessing to relevant results. Moreover, it is examined that a correct type of
information is needed in project as well as business so that engagement within community can be
developed in proper manner (Cook, 2017).
There are various types of strategies that are needed to be adopted so that community
engagement is processed in most proper manner and which are explained as follows-
Practices
 Involvement- This is being viewed as a best practice which can be used within business
environment as well as projects because though involving every individual within decision
making process as it helps in development of mutual collaboration motivation. Through
involvement, it is easy to attract individual to work within a group and achieve higher
productivity as well as efficiency.
 Planning- In this practice, it aims at understanding behaviour of subordinate in proper
manner and planning through correct way so that so that it is easy to use resources and make

decisions accordingly. Planning is required to be done in systematic manner so that
loopholes are properly examined and identified.
 Support- It is too essential practice in which it aims at supporting individual at time when
facing problem during work or workplace. Moreover, it has been analysed that a correct type
of tools are to be used to support and solve issue faced by individual.
 Methods- This is practice which is used by UNICEF in which it aims at developing of a
community engagement process by using of effective methods and approaches which are
necessary and are to be applied. These methods are adopted after a proper consideration of
market analysis. It is too stated that through use of methods benefits are achieved easily.
So, from above stated matter it is seen that these practices are needed to be used as it helps
in analysing of how to evolve with engagement process. With consideration of this it is convenient
to adapt the engagement in most appropriate way.
Stakeholder participation
In this process of community engagement, stakeholders play crucial role as they are
responsible for making effective decisions. Stakeholders in organisation are responsible for
execution of business activities, operations and functions. The participation level of stakeholder is
essential to be known as it assists in development of business goals at wider scale. Furthermore,
without accessing to these stakeholders, it is difficult to make decisions in appropriate manner.
Stakeholder management is a key activity that requires focused attention throughout the project life
cycle. Projects impact stakeholders, both internal and external to organisation. More people affect,
more likely it is that actions will impact individuals with high levels of power and influence over
projects. These people could be strong supporters of the project, or they could avoid us (Gretzinger,
2019). They are people who have interest in enterprise decisions. There are different types of
stakeholders in organisation which are described as follows-
 Employees- Employee are important stakeholders who have a higher interest in
organisation. So, when focusing on community engagement they are people who manage
and maintain the work by accessing to working as a collaboratively. In relation of UNICEF,
subordinates of firm work as a team through which they are able to complete their task on
time (Jami, 2017).
 Shareholders- Shareholders are also to be considered as important stakeholders as because
they take major decisions in enterprise. It is examined that the participation level of
shareholders in organisation is major because they allocate the entire group task to
employees and accordingly work is done. In reference of selected brand, shareholder of
company allocates the tasks in most efficient manner.

 Owners- Owners are too known as crucial stakeholders as they are known as owner of firm
and also their main interest is on gaining better ROI. The participation level of these
stockholders is too critical and is wider. Moreover, in developing of community
engagement, they hire employees and staff who has ability to work in as a tea, and deliver
better productivity.
Engaging stakeholder in community
In enterprise and business, it is important to engage stakeholder within community so that
it is easy to access to benefits and achieve common desired goals. To engage stakeholder in
community a correct type of knowledge and expertise is needed so that on basis of which processes
are processed appropriately. Stakeholder management entails identification of project stakeholders,
gaining an understanding of them, their expectations and views, prioritising them using a
stakeholder map, developing a stakeholder management plan, and, finally, engaging &
communicating with them to ensure that stakeholder expectations are addressed throughout project
life cycle. There are various steps through it is easy to engage stakeholders which are further
discussed as follows-
 Identify the community stakeholders- This is a first step in which it aims at identifying of
community stakeholders and examine the way of concern so that it is easy adopt the
strategies in well effective manner. Identifying stakeholder is crucial so that further
activities are carried out in proper way.
 Choose engagement strategy- In this, it focus on selecting of a engagement strategy on
basis of which it is easy to execute the process of engagement in proper manner. In relation
of UNICEF, it is seen that they choose the engagement strategy after a deep market research
analysis (Kimminau, 2018).
 Plan engagement process- It is a process in which it states about the planning of
engagement process so that strategies are implement in correct way. With this process of
engagement process, entity easily can further execute their procedures as well as activities.
 Make community engagement permanent- It is step in which it focus on making the
selected community engagement as a permanent. By making it permanent, benefits can be
easily obtained. The process of engagement is required to be permanent so that objectives
are achieved. Further, continuous improvement practices are to be applied accordingly.
Thus, above discussed matter shows that process of engagement is to be carried out in most
efficient manner so that decisions are further made easily. It is analysed that this process of
community engagement is to be adopted so that organisation activities are executed in appropriate
way (Pratt, 2018).

Recommendation
In business, engagement is needed at all aspect and this is seen that improvements is to be
done so that further activities are done efficiently-
 It is recommended that to ensure the stakeholder engagement, proper research is essential on
basis of which correct decisions are made.
 Another recommendation is that with use of effective strategies and applying frameworks it
is easy to enhance level of engagement.
CONCLUSION
After a brief analysis of analysis of above report, it has been concluded that it is essential
promote community engagement so that it is easy to achieve competitive benefits. So, discussions
have been made about best practices of community engagement and participation of stakeholder’s
participation. The level of competition is increasing and it is critically necessary to states regarding
the development of team and group so that effective types of strategies are carried out. This is
analysed that correct type of analysis is needed to be maintained on basis of it is easy to access to
the appropriate benefits. Moreover, it has been evaluated that by accessing to proper concept
engagement can be done.
