The purpose of this review report is to discuss a chosen article based on the proposed research topic. The
critical review report discusses the aims, research questions and chosen research methods. The scope of
the chosen paper is discussed in this critical review report. The chosen research papers talks about the
effect or impact of the attributes of a contractor in success of a project related to construction.

[2] According to Alzahrani and Emsley (2013), the construction project’s successful implementation is
considered to be a most important considerations for communities and government. It is observed that the
construction project’s successful execution largely depends of the shown attributes of the contractors.
Since the industry of construction is important in development of a nation, analysing the impact of
contractors’ attribute on success of construction projects becomes a necessity.
[3] The study aims in analysis of the impact of the customers’ attributes on a project’s success
(Alzahrani and Emsley 2013). The research question that the chosen research paper addresses is
whether the attribute of the contractors has positive or negative impact on project success. Alzahrani
and Emsley (2013), have chosen both primary and secondary research method. The entire research
paper is need to make use of two distinct research methods. A literature review and a self-
administered survey.
[4]. The scope of the research is to access the effect of contractors’ attribute on construction project’s
success. An extensive literature review is undertaken in order to analyse the effect of contractors’
attributes on constructional project success. Apart from that, the research involved a self-administered
survey. The survey aimed in asking the respondents about the effect if the CSFs of the project
contractors on project success. In the research study Alzahrani and Emsley (2013), indicated that the
first part of the survey dealt with the collection of the background information of the research
respondents while in the second part, the respondents were requested to comment about the impact of
the critical success factors. The third section of the survey asked the respondents of the survey to
provide their views on the outcome of projects that are already completed for collection of data
related to the effect of attributes on successful implementation of construction projects.
[5]. The article chosen in this research is relevant to the topic that is chosen in the previous
assessment particularly because it helps in evaluation of the contractors’ attributes in the ensuring
success of a particular project. The article is quite useful as per collects data from both primary and
secondary sources to analyse the impact of different attributes of contractors in project success.

[6]. The major limitation of the chosen article is its sample size. The sample size could have been
broader in order to ensure a more detailed research.
[7]. The chosen research paper was able to identify and analyse the effect of the contractors’
attributes on construction project success. The information obtained from the research report is found
to be genuine particularly because the data analysis involves ordinal logistic regression, which
provides an accurate data.
