Introduction
The assessment will provide the idea about the importance of Intellectual property and how to
protect IP in regards to online business to understand the legal matter. It will provide the idea
about the selection of lawyers to protect the IP. In addition, it will also define the long-term
outlook of the business.

It is important to consider the intellectual property rights for the E-commerce business industry
to take advantage of the boom that arises from their Special Hands online service. Here, the
business requires to protect its IP rights related to Trade name (or Brand name) and Design
relating to the product design. The intellectual property law safeguards the interest of business
and company entities from unfair competition in the market. E-commerce businesses consider
the IP as the most valuable asset and many times use their one portfolio and trademark to
enhance the value of the business. For the purpose of launching operations of E-commerce the
business also news to protect their investments as well, which can be done by significant
commercial assets. Branding or the Trade name is part of the IP and needs to protect by the
company Special Hands. They not only sell through websites but also social media platforms.
For the purpose to protect the brand or the Trade name, it is the responsibility to ensure that the
proposed brand is clear to provide service of interest. In order to protect the name of the business
of Special Hands, it would require to register such name with the proper authority. Similar
activity is required to protect the copyright for the designed products. This may entail doing
searches in the countries of interest for the proposed name to check whether any possibly
conflicting rights are guaranteed. Protection of these rights is essential to use the rights for taking
competitive advantage in the market. To have adequate protection in UAE it is necessary to
register the brand name of Special hands for specific terms to avoid any consequences
