The notion of discrimination at workplace
According to Liu and Wilkinson (2017) currently thousands of employees and workers
are facing issue of discrimination in their respective workplace. Discrimination is generally a
negative aspect, so at that upper management of each organisation should always avoid it in the
workplace. Mainly employees and workers in a workplace of company has discriminated their
upper management, leaders and senior managers, in which this is completely unprofessional and
unethical thing. This is the main reason that, existing management of a company should take
some productive decisions and steps towards removing these all factors from its workplace.
Almost when a manager and leader discriminate its employees and workers on the basis of their
gender, race, national origin, mental or physical disability, religion, age and colour etc. then
employees feel very unvalued by their leader or manager. Basically, most employees and
workers always like to work in that business where upper management has always taken

workplace that promotes discrimination in the workplace. In this modern world, those businesses
and ventures are growing very fast which not conducts discriminative activities in their daily
operations. This is the main reason that, existing management within all organisations,
businesses are companies should be taken quick decisions towards removing discrimination from
their respective workplace. On the other side, with the support of discrimination less workplace,
every business will be able to achieve a workforce of many effective employees. Existing
management within should understand this basic thing that, currently lots of businesses are
investing huge fund for improving effectiveness within their employees, because is any company
or business has workforce of many effective employees, then it can easily achieve huge
competitive advantage. In this situation, if any company has succeeded in removing
discrimination from its workplace, then it will be able to gain huge completive advantage,
because workplace with zero discrimination is directly linked with business organisational
success.
On the basis of Park and et.al. (2017) governments of many countries has passed different
laws, standards and acts against discrimination. In this situation, government of the United
Kingdom also has formulated employment law that says discrimination is completely an ethical
attempt, so that if any business or company in the UK is found conducting discriminative
attempt, then it will be punished and penalised according to existing legal system. That’s why
top-level management within different businesses of the United Kingdom should create some
specific policies against discrimination. On the other side, most people and customers are also
fully aware by issue of discrimination, in which they never products and services from those
ventures and companies which promotes discrimination in their daily operations. According to
many of many of people, disclination is fully against the standards of humanity and ethics. So
that, businesses any at place need to never conduct involve such elements in their daily
operations which can promotes discrimination aspect in the workplace. Currently in the United
Kingdom, many of cases comes on daily basis in the market that, a business has penalised for
discriminating their employees and workers in the workplace. In this situation, existing

Relationship between discrimination and performance of employees
According to Bayl-Smith (2019) there are discrimination is directly linked with
performance of an employee. Suppose, the manager of a business discriminates it’s those
employees who from black community, basically these employees have black colour. In this
situation, this attempt of the manager definitely negatively affects to the performance of black
community employees as well as white community employees. Reason is, no employee within
the workplace like to see its manager to discriminate its other employees. Employees not shows
their too much energy and effectiveness in the workplace when they get discriminated through
their manager. So that, existing managers and leaders within companies should take necessary
step towards not to discriminate employees in the workplace, on the basis of their background.
Basically, when management of company judge its employees on the basis of their background
instead of their performance and productivity, in which attempt of management is also a kind of
discrimination. In this situation, the manager and leaders within a business should always
consider their employees on the basis of their performance and efficiency, not on the basis of
their ethnicity, religion, colour, sex, age etc. By taking this step, the management of any
company can positively affect to performance of its various employees in its daily operations,
and at the end that company can highly grow in its respective industry or sector.
As illustrated by Lim, Trau and Foo (2018) currently such organisations and businesses
are growing very fast in the market which has lots of well performing employees. Basically,
when managers and leaders of an organisation treat their all employees in ethical manner, then
they get motivated to perform well in the organisation’s workplace. However, when managers
and leaders within many of organisations are still discriminating their employees on the basis of
their many personal factors, like; colour, religion, caste, sex, age etc. It very badly affects
employees within workplace. Basically, when an employee gets discriminated by its manager or
leader, then it can be demotivated, and at the end, its performance will be decreased in the
workplace. So that, this thing can negatively affect to the existing organisation as well, because
no organisation is able to easily survive in the market with poor performing employees. In this
dynamic world, every organisation should be used an effective and well-performed workforce to
get better results and outcomes, in which avoiding discrimination in the workplace is very
excellent step towards getting an effective and well-performing workforce. Currently

competition within each industry or sector is raising regularly, in which businesses which has
well-performing employees can easily deal with this competitive market.
On the basis of Davis, Frolova and Callahan (2016) employees and workers always feel
valued by their upper management, when their management has treated them ethically. Basically,
employees like to put their hug efforts in daily operations of an organisation, when their upper
management provide them equal growth opportunity in the workplace. This is one of the best
ways to different businesses or companies for getting an effective workforce that, providing
growth opportunity to employees on by considering only their performance, workability and
efficiency. When a business considers employees; background instead of performance and
workability for providing growth opportunity, in which that business never be achieved an
effective workforce. Top-level management of an organisation should understand a basic thing
that, employees always join an organisation or company for growing itself as well as growing its
organisation. In this situation, existing management of organisation responsible to provide equal
growth opportunity to it’s all employees, and also should never be discriminated them in daily
operations. It is very necessary to management for enhancing performance of its employees. By
considering these all mentioned aspects and factors, any company or venture can easily achieve a
very effective workforce, and be able to gain great profit margins in the workplace. That’s why
companies and organisations should always be avoided discrimination in their respective
workplace.
Ways to avoid discrimination in the workplace
According to Heilman and Caleo (2018) there are various innovative ways and method
available in the market which can support to a company or business for removing and avoiding
discrimination from the workplace. It is very necessary to top-level management of a company to
adopt and use these all ways and methods for systematically avoiding discrimination from the
workplace. For example; upper management of a company should make a strict policy. In this
policy, it needs to be mentioned that, if any manager, leader or person of company discriminate
an employee, then it will be terminated from the company for forever. Due to fear termination,
no person of company can discriminate employees within the workplace. On the other side, the
upper management need to take quick action on terminating that person who has discriminated
well-performing employees can easily deal with this competitive market.

As illustrated by Flake (2017) currently top-level management of many organisation
organises various meetings where it invites its different leaders and manager for aware them
about impact of discrimination aspect. So that, this is an effective way to different companies for
avoiding and removing discrimination in the workplace. In this situation, all businesses should

through secondary research a person always needs to visit in places for finding appropriate data.
But due to corona virus (COVIDE 19) pandemic, there was not chance to go outside for finding
