A Brief description of the event
The Sydney Royal Easter show mostly known by the name the Ester show is the famous and
the annual show of the nation Australia held in the location Sydney at the ester time period.
The show was first held in the year 1823 and from that time it is going on with utmost
sincerity. The show comprises of the amusement park, agricultural show and the fair of
various amusing things along with foods. New South Wales Royal Agricultural society is the
responsible one for organizing the event and known as the celebration of the culture of
Australia including the urban to modern lifestyle and traditions (Eastershow.com.au. 2019).
The show consists of the different competitions which include crafts and arts, cookery and
photography, taste skill and wood chopping and many more amusement-related events. The
attendance of the event was 922000 in the year 2018 and among them many were foreigners.
Every year near or less 7 million dollars is invested for the success of the event with the
various activities held in it. The event focuses on the promotion of agriculture in Australia for
keeping rural society strong and wanted. Due to the award from Queen Victoria, the event
uses the honorific Royal in it.
Description and critically analyse the positive and negative impacts of the
event utilizing the Principles of sustainability and the triple bottom line
approach
The Sydney Royal Easter Show exerts certain impacts on the local community pertaining to
socio-cultural, environmental aspects and so on.
Positive impacts: This event remarkably aids the moderate local industries to generate better
revenues in sustainable local markets. Also, one of their comprehensive missions is to assist
the rural communities with the best of their capacity (Abc.net.au 2019). The event's
charitable bodies and subsequent service organisations enormously facilitate multiple
employment opportunities for the localities. Their volunteers impeccably maintain the wide-
ranging aspects through the principles of sustainability. They maintain consistency by
promoting waste minimising management and recycling. The event’s potent water along with
energy management policies facilitates a steep reduction of greenhouse gas emissions as well.
Their purchasing policies lower their excessive resource demands thereby mediating
manufacturing costs to a considerable extent.

Additionally, this event is of phenomenal importance as it promotes the agricultural economy
by mediating sustainable practices of agriculture. The enhanced revenue generated from the
event has its significant contribution to youth education, agricultural upliftments and
competitions to strengthen the rural communities (Eastershow.com.au 2019). It provides a
consistent unique experience to every visitor. Education includes equipping the local
inhabitants on the significance of Australian farming. Furthermore, it imposes public
awareness pertaining to a wide range of environmental oriented problems and their
detrimental impacts on inhabitants and environment. The rampant utilisation of even minute
non-recyclable package system is remarkably prohibited in the event. Their stern event
policies make the stallholders adhere to compliances related to the recycling system.
Since sustainability is regarded as the prime goal of the Sydney Royal Easter Show, its
measurement often gets intricate. This welcomes the relative triple bottom line approach that
predominantly focuses on all-inclusive investment results to reinforce sustainability goals
(Hammer and Pivo 2017). It holds 3 dimensions together:
Social. Economic. Environmental.
This Easter show functions as per the TBL approach including environmental as well as
socio-cultural measures thereby differing from conventional frameworks. Regulating the
environment and surroundings bottom line corresponds to reporting and the appropriate
monitoring of waste emissions. For the event, as per TBL, economic sustainability must be
measured based on the event’s impact primarily on the economic environment with economic
strengthening contributing to the future prosperity of the Sydney show.
Negative impacts: Since enormous heads arrive at the event, transportation issues are
frequently noted with high energy consumption. This results in additional vehicles thereby
causing extreme traffic congestion. Such enormous energy consumption often disturbs
environmental sustainability. Also, owing to such heavy crowd arrival, there is an invariable
delay in transportation system making it troublesome for the local visitors. Secondly, since
visitors prefer eating inside the event itself, it moderately affects the Olympic park food
zones. Infrequently this event generates slumping agricultural revenues due to its’ internal
imbalances. Also, the event is over-priced and remarkably over-commercialised declining the
number of visitors eventually (Theguardian.com 2019). This generates security issues as

well. Expensive rides, tremendously long queues are imposing a financial burden on the
visitors. Here the TBL approach fails to refine things due to core internal heterogeneity and
management practices.
Description and discussion of how the event's program elements related to
the aims and objectives
The fundamental objective of The Sydney Royal Easter Show is to promote agricultural
excellence in rural communities. The other event aspects include entertainment, food,
competition, youth education and many more. The primary program element that is
“agricultural competition, livestock experiences” they mediate their fundamental aim of
encouraging the localities to actively participate in community agricultural practice with the
intent of acquiring an impeccable understanding of Australian farming. This relates
specifically to their aim of getting more people from the countryside to the city to impart
education pertaining to agriculture thereby ameliorating production via competition.
Secondly, their carnival fun including art and crafts, designing and innovation fulfill their
objective of promoting new products and crafts. Many students have reportedly been
benefitted from such learning (Theguardian.com 2019). This very academic event also
provides knowledgeable opportunities to multiple Australian students to beautifully
demonstrate their art and craft-oriented expertise that they have successively acquired during
study course (Tafensw.edu.au 2019). TAFE students work on a wide variety of practicing
skills which include teamwork, craft designing, problem-solving and industrial networking to
develop unique gardens with affordable budgets. This show categorically provides these
competent students with a wide platform to showcase their high-end efficiencies thereby
fulfilling their objectives of providing significant opportunities to able individuals to exhibit
their capabilities thereby promoting the essence of art.
Thirdly, their crucial element that corresponds to public awareness potentially aids localities
as well as distant visitors to acquire a detailed understanding of sustainable environment
along with with components that irritate the environmental architecture and exert detrimental
impacts (Turner et al. 2017). These automatically enhance the visitor’s number thereby
keeping the Sydney Royal Easter Show in a very sturdy and well-built economic position.
This leads to subsequent investment to strengthen the regional communities. Furthermore, the

prestigious program was strongly determined to broaden its’ enticing activities all through the
year which they evidently culminated with more individuals visiting the event.
Also, their live entertainment helps to bring various communities together for slight
recreation where they can even share ideologies pertaining to recent technological advances
and essential trends. Due to the enormous diversity and learning heterogeneity, the eminent
and commonly famed event of Sydney allures huge visitors and generates considerable
revenues each year. They invest nearly $7 million for the betterment agriculture of rural
communities.

extension of the great Easter show of Sydney.

The live streaming is the new type of trend ad this can help in attracting more eyes across
from the world and provoke them to attend the show which will ultimately lead to the
economic profit of the nation itself.
Sometimes a problem arises while managing big events like forgetting about the technical
equipment which is needed for the changing of the seating management and for that, it is
recommended to make teams for the event and assign their particular job to them so that no
problem arises at the time of the event.
Many people come from overseas at that time and they have different language as their
mother tongue so it is necessary to have the linguistic for translating their language to English
so that they can actively participate in the events. The government of Australia need to give
some special offers at the show time so the foreigners won’t go through any issues and
comfortably join the even and recommend others as well as visit repeatedly.
Over-programming is the major drawback of the event management which happens in this
show too and for the remedy of it schedule needs to have ample amount of breaks, so that the
attendances mind stay active and clear and can successfully deliver the next event.
Conclusions
Sydney’s famed Royal Easter Show, as one of the magnanimous Australian events,
categorically entices an enormous number of visitors thereby generating huge revenues to aid
the agricultural architecture with proper impact on the economy. This event comprises of
certain negative impacts as mentioned yet gets prominence due to the wide-ranging positive
impacts that it exerts on the rural communities by facilitating agricultural excellence. Due to
its overpricing, low-income individuals find it burdensome to avail the amenities; hence the
pricing and commercialisation of the Royal Easter Show need to fit the commoners so that it
becomes affordable for everyone. Nonetheless, it has subsequently shared its vital
contribution to promoting farming, education and rural upliftment which has notably
