Introduction Communication is one of the most important things which is required to be focused upon by every individual as it helps in developing strong relationship with others(West and Turner, 2018). Whenever a person is working with clients, patients or customers, communication is the key in establishing good relationship with them. It also helps in prevention of any kind of misunderstanding between two individuals(Van Ruler, 2018). This assignment will focus upon three different reflective logs: communicating with patient, communicating with fellow student and communicating during lockdown using technology. In all the three reflective diaries problems faced by me while communicating will be explained in a detailed manner using Gibbs reflective cycle theory.
Reflective Log: Number 1- Communicating with the people you support/patient Date: There are many different kinds of theories or cycle that can be used for identifying or reflecting upon problems that were faced by me in communicating with patients whom I support. Gibbs reflective cycle is one of the most appropriate theory that can be used to explains issues or problems faced by me while communicating withpatients patients (Gibbs Reflective cycle, 2020). Not only this, it will also help in explaining action plan that can be used by me to bring improvement within my communication. Description In past I had worked with a girl who had permanent hearing problem by birth. Although she was wearing a hearing aid but still, she was not able to hear or understand sentences spoken way too fast. She was also undergoing a therapy (Oral- aural therapy) in which she was taught lipreading but she was not too good at it. In her case study it was clearly mentioned to speak slowly and clearly so that she can understand what I was going to say so that she can respond to it in a clear manner. First few minutes of our meeting, I was trying to speak slowly and clearly but still, it was becoming a bit difficult for me to speak slowly for longer time period. Main problem raised was that she was a bit slow in responding if she did not understand what I was trying to say. I used to complete 3 to 4 sentences then she used to respond that she did not understand what I said. Due to this I had to repeat whole thing again slowly. Once due to this continuously repetition I did not respond to her and continued what I was says as a result she became quite and after that even if she didn’t understand what I was saying she didn’t respond. Feelings Today when feel that it was completely my fault. I should have controlled my frustration and focused upon making her comfortable with me and encouraged her so that she could have become a bit more comfortable with me and opened up more. She had permanent hearing problem since birth so it was not her fault that she was facing difficulty in understanding what I was saying. In fact, it was my responsibility and I should have controlled my frustration while communicating with her. Evaluation/Analysis Today when I analyse what happened and how I made her uncomfortable with me I realised that this communication problem did not arise because of her hearing problem but it raised from my side. Despite of knowing that she had a hearing problem I let my frustration slide and increased problem. It was mainly because it was my first experience of dealing with a patient who had hearing problem and secondly, I was not in a practise to speak slowly and repeat maximum of my sentences. Due to this, not only communication problem increased because after seeing my frustration she had stopped talking and did not even respond when she didn’t understand what I was saying. What you would do next/action plan This incident made me realise that I need to bring improvement within my way to communicating with patient. Not only with patients with hearing problem but many times due to my fluency, speaking with fast speed and low patience level, this communication issue can arise with other patients as well. I will try to work upon my communication skills and will also focus upon

increasing patience level though meditation or yoga. This will also help me in following special communication guidelines whenever in future I will interact with other patients. I will also focus upon attending classes so that I can enhance my communication skills in a better manner.
Reflective Log: Number 2 - Communicating with fellow students/lecturers. Gibbs reflective cycle is one of the most appropriate cycle that can be used for reflecting upon an incident or a problem which is faced by a person(Korstange, 2016). Using this theory, I can explain problems that were faced by me while communicating with a fellow student or lecture. Description I was working on a project with a student who was from Romania and was have some difficulty in communicating fluently in English as he was from a different country and was here for higher studies. I knew this student was not local and was from another country. While working on this project I realized that he was facing some issues in understanding complex words. I got to know and understand that my fellow student is facing some issues in understanding complex words and as a result either I had to explain him meaning of every complex word I said or I had to try to speak simple sentences so that he can understand what I was saying properly. When he was speaking, he was speaking quite slowly with a broken English. As a result, neither I was interested in talking to him nor he was interested in talking to me. This communication problem was impacting progress of out Project upon which we were working together. Feelings After this incident when I though about this whole incident I realised that it was my fault and this incident would not have occurred I was supportive and would have focused upon bringing slight change within my way of communicating. I realised that there was not much he could have done; he was in fact trying to bring improvement within his communication but I was not being supportive. I was trying to speak in a way so that he can understand but after some time I was getting a bit frustrated. This was my fault and I should have focused upon bringing some changes within my way of talking. Evaluation/Analysis Now, when I analyse the situation, I realised what happened and ways in which I had increased the problem. My project fellow did not have a good vocabulary so it was my responsibility to find a way though which this communication issue or problem could have resolved and this problem would not have increased and would not have impacted the project upon which we were working together. An in- depth analysis I also found that due to this issue my behaviour with him was also changing. I need to bring changes within my behaviour first of all and also need to enhance my patience level as well. Increased patience level and supportive behaviour can also help in resolving such issues in future. One of the main issues that I had identified is my frustration. I easily get frustrated whenever face any kind of issue in communicating with others. What you would do next/action plan Whenever, next time I work with him or any other person and think that there is any kind of language barrier. I will try to keep cool and focus upon cooperating that person positively and will
also maintain a pace with them. I will also focus upon attending yoga classes so that in any kind of situation I can keep my cool and do not let my anger or frustration slide because it is one of the main reasons because of which most of the problems arise. Yoga classes will help me in reducing my frustration level and adjust myself in any kind of situation and deal any kind of problem or issue. I will also apply for training programs though which I can improve my communication and work with students from diverse culture.

Reflective Log: Number 3 - Communicating using technology and learning from the lockdown experience. Reflective theory or cycle For describing this experience and issues or problem faced by me in communicating in lockdown while using technology I will be using Gibbs reflective cycle theory as it will help in in easily explain the situation, feelings, analysis of the situation and action plan though which I can prevent this situation from occurring again in future. Description In My personal experience, I have been sharing the incident when unable to go into outside, meet with relatives and friends. Sometimes, I feel so much frustrated and irritated. After sometimes, I have realized that utilize this time to learn new thing. I was started to use different digital technology to communicate with different people. The lockdown has accelerated the adoption of modern technology. I have been interacted with institution and teacher to continue my studies (Sokhulu,2020). Initially, I have completely lost and my communication started off. I have been realized that it become great opportunity for me to use new information technology. In order to improve skill or knowledge. In this way, I have found myself interacting with innovative people. In order to gain more knowledge. During Lockdown, The most challenging behavior forum towards the other people(Li, and et. al., 2020). At that time, I have identified the high frustration at his refusal to get ready and want to leave house. Feelings According to situation, it become obvious feeling when person get frustrated with loneliness and silence. Afterwards, I have realized and looking the back at situation, being honest with myself (Daruwala,2020). I was started to use digital technology for established the coordination with friends, families and instructor. According to me, this is very helpful for recognize the body language and activities on regular basis. I was reflecting to myself at similar situation during lockdown. As started to use new technology for identifying the primary aim of lives, goals and objectives (Daruwala,2020). This was great feeling that would be completely changed when using modern technology for purpose of communication. Evaluation/Analysis I can see myself and understanding the current situation. I have examined the problem regarding communication and demonstrated with distress, anxiety. Thus, it may slow down confidence level. After few times, I have started to monitor the daily activities and tried to use new technology. In order to establish the coordination with people (Daruwala,2020). At certain level, I was thought of innovation, idea which help for learning new things. On the basis of evaluation, I have faced the issue or problem using technology like slow internet connection which made communication ineffectiveandnotgainingofpracticalknowledgebecauseoflockdownandineffective communication. In this way, I have not gained knowledge within practical aspects. This was great time to learn new thing by using technology during lockdown.
What you would do next/action plan In this phase, I have started to do work on skill development and improve learning capability. I will try to spend some time my initial anxiety. I will use the different communication notes, tips to improve in step by step manner. Communicating is the effective way to understand particular thing. Furthermore, I will make an effective strategy to read new article, participate in online sessions (Daruwala,2020). I will think about own skill, which reflecting the incident during lockdown. It is not effective but it is helpful for self –examine. I always tried to give positive response for other people, who will establish communication with me. This will support for me to improve ability and learning communication manner. CONCLUSION From the above assessment it has been summarized that there are many different kinds of reflective theories that can be used for describing an incident in a proper and appropriate manner. Writing three reflective diaries also helped in explaining that it is important for an individual to maintain effective communication with others as it can directly impact one’s relationship with others. One should focus upon understanding issues that are being faced by other individual so thatanyfurthercommunicationproblemcanbepreventedfromhappeningandproper communication can be established.
