What are ethics?
In order to solve the moral problems of the business it requires business ethics that will help
business to deal in professional manner. Business ethics are applicable in each scenario of the
business either to deal with individual or in groups (Anderson and Anderson, 2014). It includes
maintaining the positive corporate culture to overcome all the personal and professional disputes
within organisation.
What is an ethical dilemma?
Every individual faces some situations where person have choice to perform and not to perform
and it is required to choose for best. This is referred to as the situation of ethical dilemma where
individual is stuck between situations (Wang and Calvano, 2015). Current dilemma is based on
taking decision in charitable organisation. Here, the manager is confused such as to organise the
campaign or not to encourage people to take steps against bowel cancer. Manager is with the
dilemma to choose the best among the options available and is also taking consideration of cost
to choose among both of them.
Solve the following dilemma
Charitable organisation has sole motive to promote social welfare and bring improvement in
standards of the society. With reference to case given, it needs manager to apply certain skills
and knowledge to take effective decision. However, I would like to suggest that organisation
need to organise campaign in every 2 months for people and encourage them to take steps
regarding cancer. It is necessary for managers to raise funds from investors and motivate donors
to offer a living to the suffered patients. Optimum utilisation of resource by manager leads to
deliver effective outcomes of campaign.
In addition, it is also necessary for spread awareness regarding campaign by receiving special
grants and donations. Also ethical standards are needed to be practices for gaining trust of the

society (Crane, and Matten, 2016). Moreover, transparency is needed to be maintained that will
develop trust and loyalty with the public that activities conducted are regarding bringing welfare
in the society. Failure to gain trust among public will lead organisation to face many loss in
terms of covering cost of campaign. In addition, effective solution for this case study includes
organising regular activities of campaign and developing sound image among the society.

Moreover, practicing diversity within the workplace will develop positive culture and behaviour

Secondary Research Method: This technique of conducting survey involves the data that already
exists or have been used by researchers earlier. It includes gathering of data from various sources
of government agencies, or database of existing customers.
Both the methods are necessary to use in conducting the market research as both have their own
benefits. Primary research is a real time technique that helps in collecting the accurate and
reliable data but its bit time consuming. On the other hand secondary research will not be that
reliable and accurate and is less time consuming (Wilson, 2014).

Ethical Concern in Market Research
 It is important to ensure that none of an individual in an organization where market
research will be conducted is disturbed and therefore researches must seek permission for
conducting the market research by sending the formal application of permission.
 There must be no emotional harm to the participants and therefore researches must not
compel participants to answer the questions. They must explain the need of the question
and must wait for their response.
 Various security and safety measures must be implemented to maintain the
confidentiality of data which has been collected without any biasness or manipulations.
 As per the Data protection Act, all the data collected must be as per the rules and
regulations of law.

In the current case study, Lu Yin has been suspected for Credit Card Fraud but not enough
evidences are found.
Provide an explanation what rights Lu Yin has under UK law
As per the UK law of The Fraud Act 2006, if the court is able to find sufficient proofs to prove
her guilty then she will be imprisoned for minimum 12 months or the fine of amount as per the
provisions (Ormerod et.al.2015). The law generally explain three classes that include lay by
failing to response, law by misusing of position as well as law by false representation. His law
highly influence the criminal suspects in England, Wales and Ireland.
Advise Lu Yin on what she should do when police interview her
As not enough evidences are found against her, she is not liable for any of the police charges.
Still as per the law police is responsible for conducting the interview. It is recommended to
attend the police interview in the presence of solicitor. In the absence of solicitor she must only
reveal her personal details and else she has the right to say that ‘I have nothing to say Sir’
(Bergman and Berman, 2018).
Justification for this advice
Suspected must not utter a single word other than personal details because each and every
statement is recorded and can be used against her as the proof in the court. As per the research
and study of laws in UK, it is the right of suspected to have solicitor at free of cost. Criminal
Cases in UK has been dismissed when judge came to know that suspected or criminals have not
been informed about their right of hiring the solicitor.
Recommendation
It is highly recommended to Lu Yin to not to share any of the experience or information with
police (Sikka and Lehman, 2015). The recent case in UK of owing the gun will support the
recommendation. At the time of police interview the criminal accepted that gun belongs to him
and the murder was attempted. All the statements were recorded but he was not informed about

the rights of hiring solicitor at free of cost. As per the law case must be dismissed but the
recorded statement found him guilty and was punished.

Lisa being the owner of recently opened KO Gym by spending all her lifetime savings. She has
hired a new accountant and therefore it is important to list all the elements for minimising the
risk of cash flow issues.
Assets: These are the element that adds value to the organization. Various elements like
investments, land, property, etc are the assets that are considered in the business organizations. In
the current case study Lisa’s assets are branded KO Gym vests as well as gyming equipments
which are bought for her gym set up (Schoenfeld, 2014).
Liabilities: Liability is the funds that are taken from other entity for operating the business.
These are generally referred to as debts from suppliers. In case when Lisa buys stock of vests
from suppliers in high credit is known as liability for her.
Expenses: Amount paid for running the business in an efficient manner is known as expenses. It
includes distribution of cash in turn of getting revenue (Arya and Mittendorf, 2015). It includes
salaries, debts, wages etc. In the current case study, salary, advertisements, income tax, rent,
repair and depreciation of equipments all are expenses for Lisa’s business.
Gains: When Lisa earns high amount of profit by selling of gyming products like medical
supplies, weights, vests, etc then it is known as gain. Lisa also earns profits by providing facility
of running account to large number of clients.
