system. These items are used by the firm to carry out daily activities by the firm. The system is
implemented so that it can help to reduce the cases of the security issues within the company.
Our customer, Reid Lewis, is the proprietor of R and S Entertainment Services. In 1947, Mr.
Lewis got engaged with the entertainment machine business; Coll, & Ouellette, (1996). He
maintained this business while likewise being the proprietor of a Marathon corner store.

However, R & S Entertainment had up to this far gain many customers to use their services. The
company expanded to come up with three branches whereby the headquarters Lafayette and the
other two branches include Indiana; Fort Wayne.
The main problem which the company, is facing currently is how they can keep track of its
properties. The management decided to come up with a tracking system which will enable them
to manage their properties from theft.
In 90s the company uses the Windows 95. This kind of operating system which was used by the
R and S Entertainment services which does not support so many things.
Now the company is still naïve since it does not change anything. They are still in their 90s
where they are still using Windows 95 which is an obsolete software in this days. This operating
system does not support modern application like the Asset Tracking System.
The owner of the company is called Reid Lewis who is the chief executive officer of the firm.
Lewis is in his 90s and the guy used to run a gas station. In the gas station Reid bought pin ball
operators for operator routes
In this regard it comes up a problem that the firm is not able to support its branches with easy.
The properties are getting lost overtime hence making the company management costly. The
company had decided to come up firstly with an integrated asset tracking management system to
help in the management of tools and products.

Assets management system will gap the act of stealing of company’s inventories and will
enhance the productivity within the company.
Lewis Reid own two companies which are the R and S Entertainment services and Marathon gas
station. The two companies are having several inventories. These inventories can be well
protected by employing the software within the industry. The software can be integrated to
manage all the inventories for the two companies. Tersine, (1994).

1. Integrate data into databases- the data which are placed in a number of files which are not
related, the data can be kept in an organized fashion in order to help in quick retrieval of
the data. Data are stored so that redundancy can be reduced and maintenance is as well
facilitated. This kind of data storage technique enhanced reduced cost of storage.
Integrating the data to a database ensures that the outputs available to the user are
integrated. Hence user can retrieve all the data needed from the databases. He does not
need to look for files from different locations but will just have to such for several files
stored inside one database.
2. Integrating the data processing functions- As an alternative, the programs are put in place
so that so that the functions can be performed by a group of functional-oriented modules.

are entered into the system, the users can extract them after it has been stored in the

It is highly recommended that the R & S entertainments services to manage its operation using
the new information. The information system will employ modern devices and software for the
asset tracking which will help the firm to grow its business to a better level. Asset tracking tool
services can only be enhanced in modern devices and computers which uses modern operating
system but not Windows 95. These kind of applications are outdated, and does not support so

Changes are recommended so that the firm can have a distributed system to manage all the three
branches together with its inventories and can be able to store them in a central database
