The new habit which I have developed is doing mediation in the morning; it gives my
mornings a great start and helps me in doing all the mundane chores with ease. The mindset
cultivated through regular mediation helps me in managing any emergencies that come in the
day.
My values are to live a life of discipline where every task is done in a timely and
organized fashion. The habit of mediation has forged the disciplined part in my life as it has de-
cluttered by mind thus helping me in managing things clearly (Goel, 2017).
This priceless habit has challenged my beliefs as earlier I used to believe that it is
impossible to manage your mind which is constantly occupied by thousands of thoughts and
images but by doing mediation; I have achieved clarity in my thought process.
The daily habit of mediation has completely changed my life experience. It has brought
positivity and calmness in my life and now I am able to find the solution of any possible problem
with ease. It has also opened the gateway of inner-healing of unexpressed emotions.
The mediation has changed the way I look at things, I have become more appreciative of
other people’s positive actions, and even a small act of my mother lending me a cup of coffee
fills me with gratitude.
The new sources of the information which I have engaged with are the self-help books,
live session of modern-day leaders and listening to audio podcast of revered personalities which
gives me positivity throughout the day.
As a learner, I have learned that developing a new habit is tough job as one must
overcome their old beliefs with new ones. I Initially found it very hard to even sit for two
minutes for mediation as many thoughts used to pop up in the head such as” it will not going to
work out “or “the habit is not worth practicing” but with time as I stayed on the path of
developing my new habit of doing mediation daily in the morning, it became my morning ritual.
In a book the monk who sold his Ferrari, Robin Sharma writes that it takes twenty one days to
make a new learning a habit (Sharma, 1995). with this I learned that to learn a new thing and to
make it a part of life requires patience and consistency. I can improve as a learner by focusing on
all the positives the new learning would bring it in my life thus overcoming the fear of
uncertainty, As according to Brendon Burchard the author of “the charge” that focusing on
positive outcomes of learning a new thing shifts the focus of a learner thus giving him faith to
move on with positivity (Burchard, 2012).
