Introduction
The rapid popularity of globalization has made it very clear that globalization is much more than
a simply economic phenomenon, manifesting itself on a global level. Increased movement of
goods and services, information and capital, and financial capital are various visible
manifestations in regard to globalization all over the world. Additionally, there are numerous
technological advancements, increased cultural exchanges, facilitated by free trade- availability
of variety in products and services, tourism and immigration, changes in the context of political
landscape and its consequences, which are ecological in nature. It is has been observed that
globalization as a process involves well-being of the society and people at large however, they
are not always sustainable in nature. At times it involves exploitation of resources in order to
achieve well-being. The current study focuses on the inter-relationship between sustainability,
well-being and globalization and its consequences by analysing various articles. The main
rationale behind selecting the theme of sustainability, well-being and globalization is that though
it is an emerging theme but there are not adequate studies which are available regarding the inter-
relationship between sustainability, well-being and globalization. The process of globalization
affects the sustainability approach which are taken by business and government bodies and
further as the well-being of individuals is influenced by sustainability, therefore in order to
ensure well-being the process of globalization must be controlled and sustainability measures
must be implemented. Hence, considering the importance of the theme, it has been selected.

The article states that the new science of happiness is revolutionizing individuals’ ability in terms
of measuring social progress. Various factors such as a sense of purpose and belonging and
meaningful relationships are perceived to be vital for the well-being of human beings. The author
has observed that the happiest societies in the world focus on encouraging dignity for all
individuals. This is done partly through various approaches, for example, robust investment and
pursuing a holistic approach to education. The current research conducted by the author helps in
indicating that well-being and ecological sustainability, the goals which often are viewed as

contradictory in nature, are in fact complementary to nature. It has been emphasize that social
drivers related to social being helps to counter the usual focus on economic growth besides
encouraging the pro-social attitudes and behaviours of people, considered vital for living in
balance with the nature. The research methodology which is used in the current article is
qualitative analysis by conducting extensive literature review of the various facets of
globalization, sustainability and well-being such as happiness, wealth and relative income,
inequality and well-being, happiness and sustainability and future economics and culture
transformation. The author believes that rapid advancement in technological innovation
providing knowledge and capacity for improving productivity largely, promoting activities of
creativity and collaboration available at minimal cost can significantly contribute in facilitating
transition across the globe further accompanied by reduced environmental stress and improved
human well-being. This article has been selected as it provides knowledge regarding the
interaction of sustainability and well-being which provides vital inputs regarding sustainability,
well-being in the context of globalization.

The principal purpose of the author in this article is to present a conceptual framework within
which various businesses and countries can work hard for implementing sustainability into their
corporate or national strategy. The article’s sole objective is to motivate national and corporate
leaders in incorporating sustainability in their corporate and national strategy with a strategic
leadership approach and sustainability mind-set. The approach of the company is to focus on
information which is available in the public domain which helps in outlining the real challenges
which are faced by various countries and business organizations as they consider the requirement
for sustainability and the various vital issues such as climate change and poverty. In the current
paper the concept of strategic corporate sustainability is depicted in the form of a two-step
approach which primarily requires both country leaders and company leaders to commit to the
requirement of sustainability by the development of triple bottom line strategies. The findings of
the research indicates that the most of the information present in the public domain of different
nations and businesses have implemented a sustainability policy further showcasing the

enlightened leaders possessing the mind-set of sustainability as a basic requirement for a brighter
future. The process of nations implementing sustainability policy, which helps in motivating
business organizations to endeavour various challenges in businesses that are sustainable in
nature resulting in sustainable consumption, is presented in the current paper in a manner is

The authors of the current research paper have significantly contributed in highlighting the
European framework also known as e-Frame for measuring progress. The author focuses on
proceeding with the current paper by developing on the latest political directions where special
emphasis is given to the priorities identified by the Europe 2020 strategy. The authors in their
findings have revealed that the European Framework for measuring progress in majority
contributes towards Gross Domestic Product, the main consequences of whose ranges from
thematic achievements to more politically and strategically oriented documents. The European
framework for measuring progress aims towards contributing for empowering the European
debate regarding GDP and beyond by adopting a broad approach by taking into account social,
economic, environmental and global dimensions. The strategic framework which is
recommended by the authors is the one which combines the requirement of organizations for
setting a new gold standard for corporate responsibility which is considered as a commitment to
sustainable business and which is further followed by a commitment towards differentiation of
the organization on a paradigm which is sustainable in nature. The authors in their findings have
emphasized on the challenges rising from the stocktaking activities that are being carried out
within the project. They have been conceptually classified in reference with the official statistical
production, which are more related to the possible interactions among official and non-official
statistics. This article has been selected as it helps in emphasizing a framework which helps to
progress regrading sustainability. Though the article focuses on European framework for

measuring sustainability, it provides an idea regarding the development of similar framework for
other countries of the world in context of development of sustainability progress. As such the
content of article will help in enhancing global well-being which is considered very important in
context of selected theme.
