2. Review of cloud-based solution
The most widely used solutions at the current market are Cloud-based solutions. This solution
fulfils the requirements of the different sectors of the market such as IT market, software
development and application platform. With the help of this solution, it is to explore and
widen the current abilities and capacity of any requirement. The services provided by the
cloud involve the various area of software creation, coding languages, servers and
networking. These services are the demand of the enterprises which is presented on the basis
of contact and demand (Hu & Bai, 2014). After some research and evaluation of cloud-based
solution, the basic three services provided by the cloud solution are the PaaS (Platform as a
service), IaaS (Infrastructure as a Service) and Software as a Service. Deployment of these
services for the ‘My Health Record’ project will help in managing the data and providing the
better services they can offer to their patients.

Types of services
1. PaaS or Platform as a Service: This service is used in the context of the development of
the platform where the different application can work with higher flexibility and can meet the
requirements of the service providers. This service is deployed mainly towards the online or
mobile application development.
Examples are: Apache Stratos, Windows Azure, AWS Elastic Beanstalk (Yang & Tate 2012)
2. IaaS or Infrastructure as a Service: This service mainly focuses on providing high-level
services and provides a virtual setup to provide the access to cloud services. Here, there is no
need to deploy on purchasing expensive data centre or either real estate and different utilities.
The virtual servers are taken as rent so that they can use only that much they needed.
Examples are: Amazon Web Services, Cisco Metapod, Google Compute Engine (Yang &
Tate 2012)
3. SaaS or Software as a Service: This service is in context of the development of various
application to fulfil the requirement of an organisation. It is a paid service and found that it is

purely a service which is user-oriented and requires minimum administration in the addition
of the better communication.
Examples are: Cisco WebEx, Google Apps, Salesforce (Yang & Tate 2012)
For ‘My Health’ project and after evaluation of its need, the best-suited service is
Infrastructure as a Service or IaaS which will help in fulfilling all the requirement of the
project. Here this technology will provide a virtual set up where no extra deployment of
hardware is required and the main services need is advanced computer systems, high RAM,
high graphics cards, better internet connectivity, servers and these components are already
available at the large enterprise's project such as ‘My Health Record’ project. This solution
will provide the support in managing all the services for healthcare and will manage the data
of the customers efficiently. Among the various examples of IaaS, the best-suited service is
AWS or Amazon Web Services. This service is used because it is trending in the market and
shows better functionality in managing the services in the different field according to the
requirements.
For the evaluation of the selected solution, the strength and weakness of the IaaS have been
researched in the context of the ‘My Health Record’ project:
Strength of the selected cloud solution
The services at the ‘My Health Record’ project must be managed effectively and IaaS
solution will provide a better technique to manage the services and this project provide help
in health care to the remote areas also. The strength of IaaS are:
ï‚· Saves the budget required and provides advanced and flexible services
ï‚· The installation charge is low
ï‚· Complaint type facilities are used to manage the system
ï‚· Provides a better recovery system
ï‚· Maintenance cost is low as there is no such hardware deployment
ï‚· Here limited resources are sufficient to work
ï‚· Location and time does not affect the service
ï‚· IaaS can be explored with the increasing business
ï‚· Provide user better interface to support reliability and usability (Ghaffari, Delgosha &
Abdolvand 2014)
Analysing the strengths, it can be understood that there will be less deployment of the
hardware at the ‘My Health Record’ project and will help in saving the money and this
money can be used for the healthcare purpose. Despite some of the strength, it also exhibits
the weakness as described below.
Weakness of the selected cloud solution
Deployment of any solution is not an easy task and thereby every solution have weakness too.
There are some constraints and restriction to the solution that may somewhat decrease the
effectiveness of the solution in the ‘My Health Record’ project. The weaknesses of the IaaS
solution are:
ï‚· Professional learning is required
ï‚· Software installation required specific measures such as regular updates and updating
of latest version
ï‚· Control on physical structure is difficult and high dependency on software
ï‚· Support application must be deployed for quick access

ï‚· The speed and quality of the internet connectivity must he high (Ghaffari, Delgosha &
Abdolvand 2014)
Security and privacy requirements for ‘My Health Record’ project
Instead of various advantages of the solution, there should be some security liabilities that
must be involved in the solution such that it will affect the privacy of the data. Thereby
security requirements are:
ï‚· Evaluate the solution deployed and document all the vulnerabilities
ï‚· Responsibilities must be shared among sponsors so decrease the level of loss
ï‚· Use of the authentication security process through multiple factor authentication
 Using the encryption to the personal information of the users of ‘My Health Record’
project
ï‚· In order to decrease the risk of multiple login, it better to use sign login policy
ï‚· Use of contractual agreement to support legal aspects
ï‚· Proper and continuous backup and recovery to survive from data loss
ï‚· Protection against denial of service attacks to protect the data
ï‚· Instead of single use of single cloud, it is better to use private and public cloud to
maintain the privacy (Gavrilov & Trajkovik 2012)
3. SDLC Approach
The approach of Systems Development Lifecycle helps in getting a better lifecycle approach
to deploy the cloud-based solution and to evaluate its performance. This approach provides a
sequence of activities or process with which the implementation can be successful with the
desired outcomes. The implementation of the solution requires a specific paradigm so that it
works and get managed for the better reliability and scalability (Hacaloglu et al. 2015). With
the use of best approach, the implementation becomes successful and it will benefit the ‘My
Health Record’ project. There are two types of approach which will be discussed here for the
‘My Health Record’ project.
1. ‘Predictive’ SDLC
This approach includes the process in which planning of the implementation is done on the
initial basis and before the development of the solution (Okoli & Carillo 2012). Such
approach is used in the waterfall model. This model is a series of continuous process which
provides better efficiency in the development and it indicates prediction of what will be the
next step in the process will be.
