Scene Analysis: This activity will consist of two parts: a specific scene analysis and brainstorming for possible ideas for the response for Rear Window. Part 1: Identify and analyze a specific scene you think you will use in your response paper over Rear Window. Remember, the argument has to include some aspect of the male gaze (whether you’re showing how this film supports Mulvey’s theory and/or how it challenges it). Be sure to read the response prompt before picking your scene. Be sure to identify the scene with the time stamp so I can go and look at it if I need to do so. Much like the scene analysis table for Week 10, you are going to take down notes for EACH shot in your film You may want to create a table, but if you do so, use the landscape formatting so you can room for more columns. Part of the grade will be about how easily I can see the details for each shot so just organize it in a way that makes sense.
