Global Trade Operations 2
A port is defined as a naval facility that contains several wharves where ships may dock
to load and offload passengers and consignments. Ports are mostly located along sea coasts, and
some examples are London, Singapore, Shanghai, and New York, among others (Chen and Lam,
2018, p. 947). One of the significant roles of ports is to act as an entry point for immigrants into

freight services in Singapore (Balancing Environmental Challenges with Economic Demand,
2015).
Currently, the Singapore port faces a challenge due to changes in the climate and has led

trade (Abdullah, 2019). Nevertheless, this will result in increased shipping opportunities in Asia,
