Respected members,
With due respect I would like to mention that It is imperative that individuals suffering from
Dementia should be provided with better care and support. It will aid for ensuring their
physical, mental and social well being. Dementia lead towards creating learning difficulties for
people suffering from this diseases (Glasby, 2017). Organizations that are working for dementia
needs to give support so that patients can be treated with out facing much difficulties. Along
with this sometimes people suffering from Dementia can not access medical services because
certain form of dementia is nor officially recognized. It creates challenge for service providers
to access the risk of dementia so that better medical care can be given to people suffering from
this diseases. It is vital that needs of certain groups should be identified so that services can be
provided as per the needs of that group.
Proper funding is require so that equipment and other medical treatments can be provided to
individuals that are suffering from this diseases. Along with this if limited financial resources
will be available than it will create challenge in offering effectual care to patients suffering from
the same diseases (Makai and et. al., 2014.). It limit access to services and support that is
available for people suffering from this diseases. Likewise it can be stated that it is critical that
funds should be allocated so that all the necessary task and activities that have been designed
for individuals suffering from dementia can be fulfilled.
Other than this funds can be arranged from voluntary organizations so that organization should
have appropriate finance that is available for giving services to people. Services that are given
by organization can be improved by adopting innovative practices so that effective care should
be provided to people (White, Currie and Lockett, 2014). Specific needs of people should be
need to considered so that they can overcome from different types of dementia that has been

suffered by them. It is vary important that their needs should be identified and evaluated so that
medical and other services can be developed as per their requirements. In addition to that day
care and other services can be designed and developed as per the requirement of individuals.
Diagnosis of specific forms of dementia should not be used for excluding certain people who
are suffering from this issue. Other than this it is critical that authorities can take initiatives for
ensuring that individuals suffering from dementia should not have to wait for longer time to get
access for medical treatments that are required by them (Mair, Quiñones and Pasha, 2015).
Organization can provide financial assistance to people who belongs to lower income group and
middle income group so that they can avail necessary facilities and services that are required by
individuals. People suffering from dementia and having limited financial resources should be
given funding support so that they can access the services that are required by them for
performing different functions that are required by them for coming out the issues that are being
faced by them. Along with this it is critical that needs and requirement of individuals should be
considered.
In addition to that use of innovative technology can be taken so that people suffering from
dementia can be provided with better care and support that is required by them. Proper
monitoring of such individuals can also be done so that flaws in rendering care to them can be
identified (Wimo and et. al., 2013). It will aid for taking effective measures so that better care
and services can be given to people with out facing much difficulty. Learning material can be
prepared and it will support for gaining the required outcomes from the project and other than
this use of advanced technology will also support for providing better care to patients of
dementia.
It is critical that staff members should be provided proper training so that they can render good
treatment to individuals suffering from dementia. Continuous training in dementia is needed for
all the stakeholders and it will support for involving care providers for the decision making
process to treat patients suffering from dementia. In addition to that other non medical staff and
volunteers should have basic understanding for the procedure that is being needed for giving
treatment for people suffering from dementia (Manthorpe and Martineau, 2016). It is critical
that they should be provided with effective communication skills so that they can make proper

and effective communication with patients. In addition to that it is imperative that information
should be provided to general practitioners so that they can give better treatment to individuals
suffering from dementia. With this staff needs to be trained for caring people who are suffering
from different types of dementia and it will aid for meeting the needs and requirement of
individuals that are suffering from this diseases.
It is vital that communication channel should be proper so that needs and requirement of people
should be met in effective manner. Communication that is made with dementia patient needs to
be short, simple and clear so that less difficulties should faced in understanding the message
that is provided by people suffering from this diseases (Coughlan and Cronin, 2016). While
speaking with dementia patients tome needs to be slow so that always closed ended question
needs to be used so that they should not face stress while giving the answers to questions that
are being asked from them. With this it is required that repetition of words should be done many
times so that dementia patients should understand meaning of language that has being provided
to them.
Proper action plan needs to be prepared so that organization should deliver better care and
treatment to people suffering from dementia. Along with this strategic approach is required so
that required objectives should be accomplished with out facing much difficulty.
Reflection on my own contribution :-
Working with a care organization for giving care to patients that are suffering from dementia I
have identified various techniques that could be used for giving better care to individuals. I have
identified some ways that could be used by organization and it will support for giving more
better and effective care for people suffering from dementia.
I have learn and observed that asking closed ended question should be asked from the
individuals suffering from dementia and it will aid for rendering better care to them. Issues
faced by them can be identified easily and it will aid for evaluating the specific needs that are
being faced by the person. Using name of the person while calling is also beneficial for
attracting their attraction towards the knowledge and learning that is provided to them. Along
with this repetition of words while speaking supports the people suffering from dementia. Care
providers and other people should speak slowly so that people should understand the meaning

behind the sentences that have been spoken by them.
I have observed that communication Chanel needs to be appropriate so that flow of information
can be made smooth. Other than this I have taken initiative for providing better training to the
staff members so that they should acquire capabilities and skills that are required by them for
giving better and effective care to people who are suffering from this issue. I have also made it
ensure that care practitioners should have proper knowledge so that they can treat the patients
suffering from this diseases in better way.
I have also taken initiatives for designing learning packages that can be used for providing
understanding and learning to individuals who are suffering from dementia. Other than this use
of visual, aural, reading and kinesthetic learning can be taken so that dementia patients can
learn in better and effective manner.
I have also made some rules and norms that can be used for ensuring that better care should be
given to individuals living in the care organization. Contribution made by me has supported in
identifying the specific needs of individuals and on the basis of that medical care plan can be
made. Other than this I have also made it ensured that people belonging from lower income
group should be provided with necessary financial support so that they can avail better medical
treatment and live a healthy life.
I have taken initiative for developing conductive environment so that better atmosphere can be
provided to people suffering from dementia. In addition to that I have also made it ensured that
care practitioners should have necessary details and information that is required by them for
providing better better care to individuals suffering from dementia. I have also found that better
use of technology will also helps for making it ensure that people suffering from dementia
should receive better care and treatment. All the efforts hat have been taken by me have
supported me for giving better care to individuals suffering from dementia.
