Introduction
This report summarizes and highlights the profound significance of the implantation of
information technology in the domain of agriculture that would successfully mitigate the
prevailing and persisting challenges and would successfully combat and mitigate the same,
resulting in the enhancement in the rate of production of crops. The several diversified
technologies that are required for the purpose of enhancing the production of the crops and
wiping out the prevailing associated risks and challenges, encountered in due course of
production of the crops, are described elaborately in the subsequent sections.
The implementation of these technologies would also reduce the dependency of
production on the labor and thereby there will be a substantial augmentation in the production
procedure. This report incorporates the technologies that will be implemented for the purpose of
fetching the desired requirements.
The concerned technologies are- implementation of the soil and water sensors, weather
forecasting software and corresponding database. This also includes generation of images
through satellites, pervasive automation incorporating robotics and remote oriented vehicles
upgraded with the artificial intelligence embedded software fetching the desired requirements.
Apart from this, this report also mentions the use of Mini chromosomal technologies bringing
about wide diversified spectrum of species of the crops equipped with the potentials to endure
the upcoming threats and risks and finally the role of big data in agriculture.
Background study of the agricultural industry
The industry of agricultural includes various companies and various corporations which
are involved in the account of the food production or the production of crops. The industry of

Agriculture have two different firms including the raising of animals and the growing of crops.
The section of production of animals include beef, dairy, pork farms, apiaries, chicken and
aquacultures as well. Beside of this the production of crops include the production of plants
which includes greenhouses, crops of fields, nurseries and many more. Agriculture is such an
industry which is practiced for more than thousands years back though the production form is
constant till date (Nemchenk et al., 2016). The industry of agriculture do not only support the
production of crops and animals, they also include the business that supports the agriculture. Due
to the enlargement of the business of this products’ the industry is growing in a continuous
manner.
With the continuous growth of population the demand of food is also increasing day by
day. This caused in raising of new problems as the demand is increasing the farmers and the
market is failing to provide that much amount of food for the increasing population. Beside of
this there increasing pollution is also impacting on the production of the agricultural products.
The problems that are arising due to this are the salivation of soil, cultivation issues, ecosystem
loss. Burning of the fossil fuels are causing air pollution, land pollutions which are occurring due
to the use of fertilizers. Beside of this due to the organisms that are modified genetically is also a
big concern for the agricultural products. Various cheaper products are also offered due to the
application of GMO, this also a big issue in this field. Also due to the increase in the price of
commodity is also impacting in the field of agriculture in two different ways. They are the
increase of the price of the inputs and also due to the increase of the price of the input. It is
intended that better ICT strategies can be implemented to counter the mentioned problems which
will help in managing the industry of agriculture. Due to the application of this strategies the
agriculture industry may involve with high innovation strategy implementation. Beside to this

along with the increase of the population the increase in the industry of agriculture should also
increase. Thus with the following applications the particular problems can be easily countered.
Challenges faced in the agricultural industry
There are several challenges that are faced by the Agricultural industry. The problems are
in different fields that are discussed below:
Water is an important resource for the purpose of agriculture industry. As there is need
for more agriculture there is causing deficiency in the level of water (Manjunatha, Biradar &
Aladakatti, 2016). The water resource cannot provide enough water that is required for the
increased rate of agriculture.
There are enough lands in the world but all the lands are not suitable for the all types of
agricultural. There are different problems that arise while cultivating in lands. The problem that
arises is the problem of salinity. Land fragmentation is also a big problem because small lands
cannot possess more amount of agriculture, Modern ICT technologies can be implemented for
the betterment of cultivation (Li et al., 2015). The gypsum soil which is throughout huge area
creates a challenge in the development of agriculture. Special management and better
technologies can also be implement for the betterment of agricultural land. The technical
capacities and the administrative capacities helps the people those are working in the sector of
agricultural. Due to the shortage in the research requirement of agriculture it causes effect.
Implementation of ICT is a vital thing which is very helpful. This increase the productive
capacity of the field and helps in creating a bridge in between the original needs and the original
production.
