FORENSIC MEDICINE ASSIGNMENT13 2Image 1Image one indicates death which is a result of Traumatic Asphyxia, the mechanism is theinability of the victims body to inspire enough oxygen to the respiratory muscles. The materialscollapsed building exerted a significant weight on the victim’s body leading to respiratorymuscles failure thus death.Image two The death as evident in image two was as a result of inability to inspire oxygen caused byexternal mechanical obstruction. Based on the immobile nature of the victim, she is likely tohave died as result of a soft object held over her mouth and nose but show signs of struggle.Image threeThe inability to utilize the available oxygen leading to death in image three can bespeculated as a chemical mechanism as the victim has a drug which may be used as the suicidalchemical (Byard, 2017). The image indicates oxygen availability but the drug will createblockage in the body system preventing inhalation as blood cells are affected by the chemicalthus unable to transport oxygen to the cells leading to death. Image four Based on the scene of the death, the course of death is sexual asphyxia. Death occurred asresult of too much tightening of rope used to achieve hypoxic state in attempt to increase sexualpleasure.Image five The death occurred as a result of increased pressure on the upper baroreceptors, thisincrease in pressure prevented adequate flow of blood to the brain thus cerebral anoxia anddeath.

FORENSIC MEDICINE ASSIGNMENT13 3Image six Image six indicates vagal death and other instantaneous deaths which leaves no sign atall. Death mechanism in image six can be through smothering as a result of a soft externalobstruction resulting to a death without struggle (Byard, 2017). In cases where there are no signsto identify the mechanism, asphyxia signs can be used to determine the mechanism death as inimage six. Image seven Image seven indicates death through a mechanism of drowning where the individualcompletely submerged in the water. When individual is drown in the water, the victim may holdbreath for a while until the point where CO2 in blood is completely depleted and cannotstimulate the respiratory center (Puyal, Ginet & Clarke, 2013). The victim then cries for help, water fills the lungs preventing inhalation then death. From the seventh image one can thereforespeculate that the victim died as a result of drowning mechanism which prevented inhalationthen death.Image eight The inability to breath causing death in image eight was a result internal mechanicalobstruction. Base on the position of the tongue the individual was like chocked by an inhaleobject. If an object such as food enters the larynx and the object is sufficient large, the objectcreates a complete blockage of the larynx thus cannot be solved through a cough leading to silentand quick death (Kroll et.al 2017). The image also indicates an autopsy which is used in mostcases to identify such deaths as result of cardiac related episodes which can only be correctedthrough an autopsy.
