Introduction
As of February 2015, Australia employed more than 325,300 people in agriculture,
forestry and fishery thus forming a major agricultural producer and exporter. Agriculture and
its closely associated industries gain $155 billion a year for a share of GDP of 12%. Farmers
and grazers own 135,997 properties, which account for 61 per cent of Australia's land. The
Shire of Wellington is a local government area situated in the eastern part of the state, in
Victoria, Australia. This occupies an area of 10,817 km2 (4,176 sq mi) and had a population
of 44,019 in June 2018. The local government area of the Shire of Wellington relies mainly
on dairy farming as well as other agriculture. The Ottawa Charter is an international
framework for reviewing health promotion services. This was founded by the World Health
Organization in Ottawa, Canada, in 1984. Health promotion programs are designed to enable
a particular group of people to make healthier health choices and enhance their lifestyle. The
program that has been chosen here is Farmsafe Australia that is committed to make
Australian Farms better places for jobs and living. Its aim is to enhance the welfare and
profitability of Australian agriculture by raising standards and practices on health and safety.
The targeted population of this study is Wellington Shire Council Victoria. The article aims
at reviewing the plan according to the six intervention areas of the Ottawa Health Promotion
Charter.
Discussion
The conference's main goal in Ottawa was to follow it up with the charter to meet the
world's population's growing healthcare demands. This Charter was also used to promote the
dissemination of information about health promotion programs. This has been widely used as
a framework for evaluating the effectiveness of healthcare services around the word
afterwards. In this case, the Farmsafe Initiative grew out of the development in the late '80s

of a number of local farm safety action groups and State Farmsafe Committees and has been
evaluated as follows:
Build Healthy Public Policy
Healthcare initiatives operate beyond the ground and the policymakers' target must be
to promote health. Farmsafe Australia is the national agency that links different groups that
share a mutual interest in agricultural protection and health. Government and key
stakeholders have significant parts to play in promoting health and safety for Aussie farmers.
Farmsafe Victoria prioritized policy that had a significant impact on the targeted population.
Right to farm, Telecommunications, foreign ownership , Rural rates, Onshore gas, Fire
Services Property Levy, Native animals, road and rail, Water, Native vegetations, energy and
power, Talent and foreign investment, seasonal workers and an ethical workforce, labour
crisis- all these aimed at improving the health and safety of the Shire of Wellington. This
policy development helped the targeted population to get access to proper resources thus
deeming this system to be compatible with the field of practice (Adler & Seligman, 2016).
The role of nurses is to influence the policymaker to realize the priority of the resources and
shaping the care of the rural communities by making them aware of the policy and influence
them to utilize it for their betterment (Field et al., 2014).
Create Supportive Environment
Supportive environment is interdependent on health promotion and thus forms an
crucial part in achieving the goals of health promotion. Farmsafe is 100 % non-profit, and in
recent years we have committed considerable time and energy to raising awareness on
Australian farms of key health and safety problems through social media and interaction with
communities and stakeholders. The Farm Safety resources creates a supportive environment
