2HUMAN RESOURCE1.0 IntroductionThe four-frame model of Bolman and Deal identifies four distinctive frames from whichthe employees can see their organizations. The employees can see their workplace from fourdistinctive frames like structural, human resource, political and symbolic (Lyonet al.2014). Thisstudy will discuss only about human resource frame in respect to an organization. Humanresource frame deals with the individual needs, feelings, skills, prejudice, limitation and relationof the employees at their workplace. The organization chosen for this study is Cotton On. CottonOn is a popular clothing retail in Australia. The study will discuss about the human resourceframe followed in this organization. Moreover, throughout the study, it will discuss about thestrength and weakness of the organization from the perspective of human resource frame.2.0 Strength of Cotton On2.1 Effective CommunicationEffective communication in the workplace is extremely important, which allows anorganization to be more productive and operate effectively. According toSheehan (2014), opencommunication in the workplace allows the employees in communicating with the managementopenly. Therefore, the employees can easily share their concern and issues with the managementfor getting immediate solution. As per the human resource frame, the workplace of Cotton Onhas an open communicative environment, where the low-level employees can easilycommunicate with their upper management. The direct communication between the employeesand employers often solve critical issues easily.
3HUMAN RESOURCE2.2 TeamworkTeamwork is extremely important for an organization, where the employees workcollaboratively with each other for enhancing overall organizational productivity. According toKramar (2014), teamwork enhances the collaboration and support of the employees for eachother. The team members can share their workloads among each other, which reduce theworkloads of the employees. In case of Cotton On, the employees of the organization alwayswork in team by sharing task among each other. In this way, the collaboration and support of theteam members for each other make them able to complete even complex task easily. On the otherhand,Arvanitis, Seliger and Stucki (2016)opined high level of collaboration among the teammembers encourage them towards enhancing their overall productivity. Likewise, high level ofcooperation and collaboration among the team members of Cotton On leads them towardsenhanced productivity.2.3 SupportWorkplace support is an important characteristic, which influence on positive nature ofan organizational culture. According toJackson, Schuler and Jiang (2014), adequate supportfrom supervisors enhance the confidence level of the employees towards completing anycomplex organizational task. In case of Cotton On, the supervisors provide high level of supportto the employees, which enhance the employee confidence in completing complex task easily.On the other hand,Kehoe and Wright (2013)opined that adequate support from the supervisorsalso builds positive relationship among the employees and supervisors. Such positiverelationship enhances the enthusiasm level of the employees for enhancing their overallproductivity for achieving organizational success. In this way, supervisor support fosters positiveworkplace environment in Cotton On.
