INTRODUCTION
Human Resource is the function in an industry that deals with issues and people that are
related with the the people such as; recruiting and hiring employees, providing training and
organisation development, compensation and benefit. The present study aims to manage people
in “Vectair Holdings” that is a hygiene product producer located in Basingstoke. In the report, a
Trainee HR assistant from a croydon-based recruitment agency will aims to provide recruitment
and training services to the Vectair Holdings. The study mainly divided in 4 major parts. In the
first part recruitment and selection will be discuss with preparing job advertisement. Second part
aims to evaluate training and induction programs in the industry. Along with it, the third part will
discuss various motivation theories for managing people in the enterprise and lastly the fourth
part will identify and explain individual behaviour at work and factors that enable teamwork.
MAIN BODY
1. Recruitment and Selection
Recruitment and selection function in the company help in hiring and selecting the best,
skilful and talented candidate for the vacant position in Vectair Holdings (Botzen and et. al.,
2019). The recruitment and selection process is one of the most essential aspects in
organisational growth and development. As a Trainee HR assistant at a recruitment agency, a
design has been develop for Recruitment and Selection process in Vectair Holdings.
Recruitment
Recruitment can be defined as the procedure of identifying and influencing the potential
candidates to apply for the job. It refers to a positive process that focuses on attracting as many
candidates as possible.
Step 1: Distinguishing vacancy: It is essential to identify available vacancy in the company that
is consumer service executive.
Step 2: Develop recruitment plan: In this stage manager develop recruitment plan and execute
with finalising the job description of consumer service executive. This will help in provide
necessary information to the people regarding required roles and responsibilities (Burke and
Noumair, 2015).
Step 3: Selecting and search: Under this step, select potential candidates for screening their
qualification that are related to the vacant post and mail their resume to the company.

Step 4: Review application and short listing: it is essential to short-listing and reviewing that
are depends on different factors. Industry select the best fit candidate for the vacant post. The
requirement for the position is effective communication skill, critical thinking and handling all
the consumers in pilot ways.
Selection
Selection can be defined as the process of selecting the right fitted candidate with require
skills for the vacant position (Cohen, 2017). It refers to a negative process as it eliminate or
reject as many applied candidates as possible so that company can able to identify the right
person for the position.

After those stage the secondly come selection process with help of further process such as
conducting interview, finalize and selecting candidate are as follows:
Step 5: Conducting face to face interview: In this the manager of Human Resource of Vectair
Holdings conduct interview Program and panel. In this process, they meet with the candidates
and take face to face interview to understand the ability and confident of speaking.
Step 6: Finalize selection: HR manager select candidate according to the interview performance
and aptitude test. Management take final decision and select the candidate (Recruitment and
selection process for company, 2017).
Step 7: Hire: In this management team send hire letter to prospective candidate to join the
company. By accepting all terms and conditions of employment contract.

2. Training and Induction
Training and induction are two most essential element in the organisation to improve the
performance of the existing and new employees. Training is refers to the planned programs that
are undertaken for improving the performance of employees regrading their skills, attitude,
knowledge and behaviour (Doane and et. al., 2016). The training programs improve the overall
performance of Vectair Holdings. On the other hand induction is a process of receiving and
welcoming an employee when he join the company and provide them basic information
regarding company policies, leave policies, etc. The company provides their employees on the
job induction training that can improve their performance.

The company aims to provide on the job training to their employees that help them to

Company faced many challenges during the induction and training programmes;
Lack of Involvement:
Involvement is the essential on three levels like cognitive, emotional and behavioural.
The challenges in training and development by poor knowledge retention, passive
learning and lack of commitment without all three in place (Ekwoaba, Ikeije and Ufoma,
2015).
Solution: Active learning culture and make all the worker feel like a part of culture
which can promote the emotional involvement.
High costs:
There are high costs of facilitation, machines, hire venue and costs of employees time
which are made training an expensive undertaking. Training budget tend to be small
while training demand are always heavy. It is also challenges by training programs for
company.
Solution: It is necessary to move online training which remove the travel and venue costs
and frequently low status costs.
3. Motivational Theories
Motivation can refers to a driver that influences an individual to work in a certain way. It
is basically an energy that push the people in Vectair Holdings to work hard in order to
accomplish the objectives (Galvin and et. al., 2019). There are many motivation theory and they
mostly influence the outcome of job satisfaction of employees. Following are the two theories
that applies in Vectair Holdings;

Herzberg's two factor theory
This theory also known as Motivator – Hygiene. It has been found that there are five
factors that bring satisfaction for the employees; Achievement, Job, Recognition, Advancement
and Responsibilities.
Hygiene factors
There are some hygiene factors that are not intrinsic related to the job but it is related to
the condition in which job has to be perform. Vectair Holdings ensure that employees are getting
proper working condition, job security, technical supervision, etc. This will help the organisation
to build a good relationship with the employees (Holm and Haahr, 2018). Along with it, pay
structure of staff should be appropriate and the working condition should be clean, safe and
hygiene that foster employees towards the satisfaction. This factor applied in Vectair Holding by

providing physical working environment that motivate the staff, building interpersonal relation,
providing them security regarding their job.
Motivational factors
For make the people within the industry happy and satisfied with the job, company
concern with fulfil their psychological needs and addition benefits provide to the employees.
Vectair Holdings concern with motivating the employees to work better (Lăzăroiu, 2015). For
that purpose they provide rewards,recognition and furthermore, give them promotional
opportunities. If employees get praised on their good performance they will be motivated for
more better performance. This factor applied in the Vectair Holdings by providing recognition
for good efforts, providing promotional opportunities, giving responsibility to the individuals and
teams as per their role.
Advantages
This theory emphasise motivation from within the employees themselves and enterprise
can create a positive working environment in Vectair Holdings. So that the staff feel
motivated and work more harder that result in long term benefit for the company. It make able to the manager of Vectair Holding to identify that from what matter
employees are satisfied or dissatisfied and take action accordingly.
Disadvantages
The reliability of this theory is uncertain and it is not free from bias as this theory mainly
focus on providing satisfaction to the employees not on motivation.
The disadvantage of this theory is that it is more of a generalization that is not appropriate
to all the individuals in the organisation.
Maslow hierarchy of needs
This theory of motivation concern with different need of a human being. If industry fulfil
the needs of their employees that make them able to encourage the staff to perform well. For
example; Vectair Holdings ensure to fulfil from the basic need to advance need of its staff. The
theory is applied by the Vectair Holdings at the workplace;
Physiological need: It focuses on fulfilling basic need of a human being such as, water,
clothes, food, shelter, sleep. Vectair Holdings ensure that they fulfil the basic requirement of the
staff that although not such a big factor of motivation but it build positive attitude of the staff
towards the company (Rabin, 2018).

Safety and Security: After fulfilling the basic need, company ensure that they provide
proper safety to the employees and job security. The company provide health insurance, financial
protection, job security, etc. that improve their motivation as they feel valuable.
Belongingness and love: Vectair Holdings treat their employees very well, make them
feel an valuable part of the enterprise and create a friendly and supportive environment. One of
the most important factor motivates the employees in Vectair Holdings is that they involve them
in any strategic decisions.
Self-Esteem: This is the most influencive need where every member in the company
need to be appreciated for their efforts. Vectair Holdings ensure that each and every member in
the company appreciated, respected by each other (Woodcock, 2017). It enhance the motivation
and attachment with their work, company and with others as well.
Self-actualization: Vectair Holdings provide an opportunity to the employees to grow.
The business identify their capabilities and potential and promote them accordingly that assist
them in encouraging staff members.
Advantages
This theory is very simple in understanding and implementing in the organisation to
motivate the employees (Zhu, Gardner and Chen, 2018).
It help in creating positive atmosphere within the workplace by taking human needs of
the staff into account.
Disadvantages
Every individual in the business have different need, thus, it is difficult for Vectair
Holdings to fulfil different requirement of each and every members.
It is also difficult to determine that the person is satisfied or not after meeting the
requirements.
4. Individual Behaviour and Teamwork
Behaviour of individual towards the company have significant impact on the
organisation. There are many factors that influence the behaviour of individuals and for enabling
teamwork in Vectair Holdings. The factors that can influence behaviour of the staff can
understand by following theories;
MARS model of individual behaviour

This model aim to identify and understand the influences that drive human behaviour at
workplace. Vectair Holdings aim to achieve effective outcome by efficient performance of the
workforce. In this model, MARS stands for;
Motivation: This factor influence the behaviour of individual in workplace in positive
manner. Motivated employees are willing to work in effective manner. For that purpose,
manager of Vectair Holdings use various motivation techniques to motivate the workforce that
bring effective result as performance will improve by this (Botzen and et. al., 2019).
Ability: This factor mentioned that every individual at workplace require capabilities and
skills to work efficiently. If they have not specific capabilities they can get demotivated and their
morale also can get low. In that case, training manager of Vectair Holdings provide proper
training and development to the individuals so that they have sufficient knowledge and required
skills that can improve their performance.
Role perception: This refers to employees are aware about their roles and
responsibilities. It is require that company clear the role to each and every member so that they

can perform well. Manager of the company provide all the necessary information about the job
role to the employees that help them to understand what company is expecting from them.
Situational factor: There are some environmental factors that can influence the
behaviour of individuals. For example; work facilities, given time target, etc. Therefore, Leader
of the company is require to arrange the conditions so that employees can achieve their
performance potential (Doane and et. al., 2016).
Tuckman team development model
This model help the company to identify factors that help them to enable effective
cooperation and teamwork within the organisation. This model help leader of Vectair Holdings
to develop team effectively. There are following stages in this model;
Forming: In the first stage, leader of Vectair Holdings assembles the team and allocate
task to them. The members are dependent on the guidance and direction of the leader.
Storming: In this stage team members starts addressing the task and also they give
suggestions to the leader of Vectair Holdings. Individuals in the team are required to focus on the
organisational goal by reducing emotional elements of their own.
Norming: Roles and responsibilities of the team is clear and accepted by every member
in the team. Leader is not more take decisions for the task as all the decisions taken by the team
with coming on an agreement.
Performing: The team is motivated and work hard to achieve the team goal. Leader of
the company must be delegate (Ekwoaba, Ikeije and Ufoma, 2015). Each and every member in
the team are giving their best for attaining the desired outcome.
Adjourning: This is the last stage where the objective is achieved by hard work of team
members. Now leader can dissolve the team.
Both the theory/model help Vectair Holdings to identify the factors from which
individuals are influence and reduce those negative factors and make leader enable to
developing the team for better performance and outcome.
CONCLUSION
From the above study it has been evaluated that the recruitment and selection process is
essential for the company to hire best candidates for the team. That process help to screen and
select best candidate with the help of effective and valuable process. Induction and training
program has effective and necessary of the team in that case manager have to give proper
