A. Value proposition and benefits of the Vancouver Convention
center
The Vancouver convention center has a broad variety of services that
include exhibition centers, ball rooms, meeting rooms and
outdoor
plazas. The
Vancouver convention center is focused on
sustainable practices while maintaining a large space, integrated
with cutting edge technology. They believe in Innovation, Trust,
Service excellence and accountability. Moreover, it is in the midst of a
multicultural city with a diverse population of 2.3 Million and most of them
staying quite near to the center. In my opinion, it will be an added benefit
for us to have greater participation in our biking and cycling event
(vancouverconventioncentre.com, 2019).
In my opinion, the usage of
sustainable décor is the most valuable and outstanding aspect
and hence, we should go ahead with this venue for our event.
B. Green practices by Vancouver convention center that would
impact our event
Vancouver Convention center has an
expensive carpet
flooring done which is covered with recyclable plastic
sheeting during events; this helps saving the environment.
There is a
unique artificial roof designed to act as an
insulator and reduces heat gains during the summer and
heat loss in winter.
The Vancouver convention center is
Certified LEED®
Canada Platinum; with rain water harvesting facilities.
This water can be used of our event.
A
marine habitat has been built into the western building’s
foundation which has improved the surrounding water quality,
and the
roof has few bee hives; bees help to pollinate
the plants and give honey for scratch kitchen.
