INTRODUCTIONThe scope of employment in the areas of marketing has increased in last two decades.Marketing department of a team is responsible for business development. This career option ischosen because earning capacity in this field is very high. This job is related to finding needs ofthe customers and providing them various facilities like after sales service. Advertising sectorhas seen remarkable growth in last 4-5 years and according to my opinion, making career in thisindustry will help me in earning more money. Convincing people to buy a particular product issignificant part of promotion. This report will discuss about employment trends which affectgraduates, required knowledge and experience for making career in marketing will also becomepart of this assignment. General Employment trends in the graduate marketIf the education sector is analysed than it is observed that each year almost 350000students leave colleges as a graduate. If the ratio is compared with the availability of jobopportunities for them than the result is that there are less number of jobs available which resultsinto increase in the rate of unemployment. This increases both competition and pressure for thegraduates to get an equivalent job profile for them as it is important that after investing time andmoney in education the expected returns are received (Carrer, 2011). The most demanding orimportant sectors for these students are of media, marketing, banking, HR sales accounting etc.in order to get these jobs it is necessary that an applicant has capacity to stand out from othersand show his capacity to perform a particular job. The latest trends in the graduation employmentmarket gives a detail knowledge about what is the starting salary of person who has justcompleted his college and like factors. It is observed that now the options with graduate hasincreased as globalisation has brought with it various platforms which create demand in thelabour market. The rate of total wages has also raised as in order to meet the excess ofcompetition companies wish to employ more skilled employ for which they have to pay highersalaries. It is expected that in the coming time due to the continuous increase in competitionmore strict recruitments will be done which will effect the morale of a new candidate who is newto the professional life (Carrer and et. al., 2010).1
