It has opened the boundariesof countries for business to trade globally. This has created vast number of opportunities forgrowth and development of businesses (Papastergiadis, 2018). Apart from it, by entering inmarkets has made it easy for companies to develop new products and services. also, people areable to select from variety of goods available. Globalisation has helped big brand to emerge atglobal level. They are able to build customer base in different markets and generate more profitsand sales. It has enabled them to improve living standard of society by fulfilling needs of people.Aim and objectives:Aim – To explore the benefits of globalisation in expansion of business. A case study on Tesco. Objective To identify positive impact of globalisation on retail sector.To evaluate how globalisation has benefited Tesco to expand in different markets To access the areas where business functions of Tesco has improvedResearch questions What role does globalisation play in emerging at global level?How globalisation has forced business to expand in new markets?How companies are benefited due to expansion in different markets?Literature review According to Pieterse, 2015, in today’s era every company is trying to enter in newmarket so that they can sustain for long term. Globalisation has given them platform to operate indifferent countries. it has allowed them to build trade relations with other countries (Economicbenefit of globalisation. 2018). besides this, many governments have reformed their trade andtariff policies so that economic growth can be increased. for example, India has allowed 100%FDI in every sector. So, it has attracted big firms to operate there. IKEA has taken advantage ofit as they opened their first store in Bengaluru. Now, in future they will expand in other parts ofcountry. 1

As said by Steger, 2017, the main benefit companies have got due to global trade is byexchanging data and information they are able to design new products at low cost. with help ofit, customer can get high quality goods at low cost. alongside it, with advancement in technologycompany’s operational efficiency has increased. furthermore, by using social media products arepromoted in effective way. through this, large number of people are attracted. In view ofCostinot and Rodríguez-Clare, 2014., there is both positive and negative impact of globalisationof economy and businesses. But on contrary, there is more positive impact. It has enabled ineconomies of scale. The integration of culture and ethics has ease way of trade. In addition thecombination of economies has enhanced lifestyle of people. as elucidated by Dunning,2014,people are now more aware different types of products available in market. they are able tocompare and purchase best one. It has benefited both consumer and business to a great extent. In the opinion of Scheuerman, 2017, there are many more advantage businesses havegot. By sharing of technology, they are able to produce high quality products at low cost.moreover, the operational efficiency has enhanced. by creating awareness about products atglobal level, organisations are able to build a large customer base. From this they are able tocompete with local rivals. The main advantage is consistency in operations has boostedperformance of enterprise. With continuous expansion businesses have maintained consistencyin their sales. For example, if adequate profits are not generated from one market then other areasor region can be focused on. As elucidated by Crane and Matten, 2016,organisations are nolonger dependent on one market for profit generation. It has reduced the burden on firms. P2 Examine appropriateresearch methodsandapproachesto primaryandsecondaryresearchA research methodology creates a framework in which there are various researchmethods included. It gives an insight to researcher to process in step by step manner. There aremany methods which is as follows :- Research design – it is useful to get an overview about what is overall research objective. Theresearch design is of two types that is exploratory and conclusive. In exploratory more areas ortheories are identified while in conclusive research is done to come up at final conclusion. Here,researcher will use exploratory design to generate more theories about globalisation. Research philosophy – in this the researchers gets an idea that how data is gathered andinterpreted.
