I would like to recommend that IKEA shouldgo with online stores as it will get benefited by doing so. The memo developed will help AKEAin developing a better set of understanding with why it should go with online stores rather thandeveloping a physical store in the market. To gather information I have visited many of thephysical stores and also have visited to the online shops and tried to understand the differencebetween both.Comparison between Physical Stores and Online StoresI visited many of the furniture stores in the nearby places and get to know that physical stores arethe stores which are available in the city or in the nearby places of the people (Wang and Park,2012). In physical stores, huge variety of the products and services remain available. People cango and check the quality directly and can make the decision of whether to purchase the productor not. It is required that the people should visit the physical stores and make the purchases. Inphysical stores, people are required to stand in queues for the long period of time to make thepayments. For the return of products and services, people have to visit the physical stores againand then they have to make the returns. Return policies are not that much effective as there aremany of the terms and conditions attached to the return policies.After gathering appropriate set of information related with the physical stores I started searchingfor the online stores and evaluated that online stores are the stores which do not remainphysically available, people could reach only with the help of internet. In online stores also ahuge number of products and services remain available. People can just evaluate the quality bythe ratings and image of the product as they are not physically available. People just have to visitthe online website with the help of internet and they can purchase the products and services justby making certain clicks. Purchasing products and services from online stores is easier.

Payments can be made by just making certain clicks. In this, a person personally visits thecustomer to take the parcel and money is returned in the accounts of the people (Sobh andElleithy, 2010). Return policies are really effective as many of the online stores provide 20 daysreturn time and some of the stores which provide 7 days return time.Importance of Online StoresI started gathering the information from people available in the market and get to know that timeis changing and so the choice and preferences of the people available in the market are alsochanging. It is being evaluated that the people available in the market are going online and preferto choose the things from online stores (Ratanasawadwat, 2015). Online stores help them inmaking choices from huge number of styles and brands. These stores also provide pricedescription which helps the people in making an effective set of the decision of whether topurchase the products and services or not. Products and services could be provided at acompetitive price as it is not required to avail attractive infrastructure or an attractive showroomfor the online stores (Hidayat and Hidayat, 2017). There are many of the unnecessary expenseswhich are eliminated by the online stores, this helps in availing the products and services atattractive prices.Online stores will help in sustaining and will help IKEA in attaining competitiveadvantage in the market.Comparing online stores with the physical stores it could be evaluated that online stores providesa better services to the customers available in the market. IKEA will generate more revenue withthe help of online store rather than opening a physical store (A.Latha and C. Karthikeyan, 2012).Online store will help IKEA will be able to save more money rather than investing in thephysical stores.SuggestionIt could be suggested to IKEA that it should go online and should prefer to sell its products andservices with the help of an online website.
