INTRODUCTION
Networking is known as complete procedure of creating and using computer network
including software, Hardware, internet protocol, wired and wireless technology. It also can be
considered as exchange of information and ideas with people with proper professional or special
interest normally for social setting (Kuss and Griffiths, 2017). Priority Advertising is a marketing
company which is currently planning for business expansion in Toowoomba and moving to a
new 5 floor office in Brisbane suburb. This is report is providing a proposal which is designed to
improve the operational efficiency by developing better networking systemin both location of
offices. An efficient network plan will be designed for Brisbane office and Toowoomba office to
full fill technical requirements of Priority Advertising.

Activity 1
There are three types of computer systems are required in the organization which are for
general, graphic and film production use. For each type system requirements are different so the
systems need to design accordingly.
General Computer Systems- In the Priority Advertising departments like, marketing, HR and
accounting use the computer system for general which required system with normal features. For

For the five-floor office where different departments of organization situated this is a
networking plan. As per this plan there for each floor a networking hub of switching hub is used.
In general, the public internet and cloud Wide Area Network is connected to the external firewall
of company to prevent any major failure and security breach (Johannisson, 2017). Then this
internet source will be connected to then modem which is used to convert the analogue data and
signal into the usable digital form. Modem will be connected to internal firewall of company to
prevent security breach from the inside of company. Further mailing server and web servers are
connected between main switching hub and modem. These servers are directly in connection
with the router to provide better access to employees and managers of company. Further the
router is connected to server and modem through the switching device. Multiple modems are
used to provide connection to different department. This will improve the internet speed for each
user. For each floor a switching hub with 24 ports is used to provide connection to all computer
system. For the manager of the floor a private connection line is provided to prevent the leakage
of classified and important information of company and its clients. A common printer is
provided for the floor and a personal high-performance printer is provided to the floor manager
on the private line (Larsen and Urry, 2016). In this network plan star connection is used to
minimise the cost of other equipment and gain productivity.

For the system network of Toowoomba office system is needed for 6 people. Some of them are
mobile employees. This system is same as the system of organization. Same as head office
modem is connected to external firewall and internal firewall to maintain the security of data.
Further router and switch system are implemented to maintain the data transfer and
communication effective (Scherer and Sholtis, 2015). A private line is provided to Toowoomba
manager to perform regular communication with Brisbane office.
Activity 4
Shared Devices in Organization
There are different shared devices are used in organization to perform their operations with high
efficiency. Shared devices that can be used in the Priority are- Multi-purpose printer (Colour and
black and white), access point, switches, and routers. Company can use product of different
companies to which are providing same product with different features and cost (Hwang,
Ramakrishnan and Wood, 2015) For better and economically efficient expansion and technology
up gradation company need to select cost efficient and heavy-duty devices.
Multi-Purpose Printer- Many companies are providing multipurpose printers that can be
proposed for Priority Advertising. There are two types of printer’s organization need one is for
general and common use and other one for private use of manager, graphic and film production
(Sommer and Dressler, 2015). Capacity and quality of printing need to be good for better
operational efficiency but company can select a product that is compatible with both private and
common use.

Networking Switches- This are also known as the switching Hub, bridiging hub and in the
technical terms these called as MAC bridge (Franck, 2016). It is used in the computer
network to connected different devices with the computer network by using the packets of
data to receive and forward to the target device. Ion the Priority Advertising switching
hubs are used to connect the five different department from a common ser which are

Router- Router is a networking device that is used by business organization and home user
to transfer the data between the various networks. In the technical form it is a device that is
used to directing the functions on the internet (Farhady, Lee and Nakao, 2015). Data
transfer is performed in the form of data packets and this data is transferred to particular
IP addresses by Router. For Priority Advertising router are moist important to perform
efficient transfer of data between the particular IP addresses. Organization can use any of

This is how Priority Advertising can use this different sharing devices to get better
networking performance for high speed internet connection for each user and improve
establishes high speeds communication and data transfer between systems. All the devices that
are suitable for company are recommended with their cost.
Activity 5
Internet Service provider- It is an organization that provides various services to access and use
internet facility to client or their consumer (Zou, Xie and Yin, 2016).. These customers could be
an organization or an individual person. There are different types of services provided by ISP to
business organization which are- Dial up internet access, DSL, cable internet, Wireless
Broadband, Wi-Fi internet, ISDN and Ethernet. ISP charges the organization to providing these
services.
For the security of company network there are different devices and internet protocols
can be used in company to manage the security and privacy of company data and information.
Firewall- Firewalls can be used by organization to maintain the internal and external security in
the organization. This can be consider as the first line of defence for the company (Amadeo and
et.al 2016). Fire wall device is compatible with many other devices like router and modem and
server. By using the firewall organization can prevent any kind of security breach in the
company. Operation of firewall is based on two methods which are whitelisting and blacklisting.
This two methods allow the employees to access different web addresses through company
network.
Intrusion Detection system- It also can be used by Priority Advertising to detect any kind of
breach in the networking system of organization. This is also can be consider as the antivirus of
whole system. All kind of malicious software and computer viruses can be detected by this
system. IDS is provided by internet service provider also company can use their own IPS to keep
their system safe. For wireless network organization can use WIDPS and this system will help
the company to prevent the intrusion of malicious software on the wireless network.
Network Access System- This is also one of the best way to manage the security of the
computer networking system (Haque and Abu-Ghazaleh, 2016). In this method organization

manage and control the resource seeking of the end point user to prevent the intrusion of
malware through the internet sites.
This is how different systems can be used by the organization to prevent the security in
the failure of wired and wireless system.
Networking Protocols- Networking protocols are used by the companies to prevent any
unauthorised access to the company server. In this process a particular identity is given to the
each user to manage their access to different sites. By this process organization is able to prevent
assess of unauthorised user to company's server and data.

The data handle by the organization and its employees is confidential and vulnerable for
organization and this information can be miss used by the people who can hack the data from the
public network and this not good for the business of Priority Advertising. The as the organization
is in the marketing world they must secure their data and operation to maintain productivity and
copyrights. To make their server secure from the public organization can use multi layer security
to keep network safe and private. This is major concern for organization to handle security
issues. By using different IP address Priority Advertising can make their network safe from the
outside attack (Elfring and Hulsink, 2019). Organization normally use one of more Ip address to
gain access from the internet service provider. Company need to keep this ip secure to stop the
outside people to access the internal Ip's. By this arrangement people from the external network
will not be able to access the company data. Without knowing the main Ip it is not possible for
hackers to access the data and information on the server of the networking system. This is
organiaton can use this special arrangement to keep their data and network secure from security
breaches.
CONCLUSION
This report is proposing the networking plan for the Priority Advertising for their transfer
and expansion in the Toowoomba. Various changes has been proposed to improve the
performance of company to improve their business in the global market. Detailed server form
has been filled to provide a brief to company about what kind of changes are required in
company to improve their business process. Various types of computer systems has been
considered for general, movie editor and graphics designer. Different sharing devices that are
required by company in order to improve their performance provided in study. Different security
devices and protocols has been discussed to increase their network security.
