INTRODUCTIONOrganisation behaviour is the examination of that way in which people communicatewith other or in group. The organisation behaviour is scientific approach which can implement tothe management workers. This theory will used for human resource main motive which help inmaximise the output from a single team member. An enterprise need to organised andmaintained all the business structure whether it is small or large. This is also for the organisationwhich has to maintain culture that is major responsibility of the company (Andersson, Jacksonand Russell, 2013). The culture of an enterprise consist of that way in which people properlybehave in the company, maintain beliefs, their habits etc. Organisation culture play an importantrole for supervising healthy environment in the firm which can be maintained properly bymanagers. This report is based on British airways is one of the leading organisation of the airlinefield. On the other hand, for doing comparison Virgin Atlantic is the also airways companywhich is situated in UK.TASK 11.1 Compare different organisational culture and structureBritish airways company will follow the hierarchical organisational structure which isdescribed the various layers and large number of jobs level within the firm. It is a big enterpriseso this is necessary for British airways is to follow hierarchy structure within an organisation inproper manner. The major disadvantage for being hierarchical in nature are that all the importantdecisions are taken by senior members and top management for the benefit of employees as wellas firm growth. But workers and other members are not participated at the time of decisionmaking. It is also necessary for the firm is to make fast decision because information are flowfrom hierarchy structure are very slow process while delivering one message at different levelsof an organisation (Ashkanasy and Humphrey, 2011). The culture of British airways company istotally based on organisational structure. The key values and beliefs of the firm are combinationof unity, transparency, customer satisfaction etc. The top management of British airline companyare involved with all workers for properly ensures that each employee will feel safe and securewhile doing work.On the other hand, Virgin Atlantic has minimum layers for transferring information anddata from one person to another. The major source is communication which help in flowing1
information in easy and fast way. Company will treated all the people as equal and also givethem equal responsibility. The culture of work is considered that there is no space for lazy andweak persons. The rewards and incentives are totally based on efforts of employees and in thisarea competition is very high within an organisation (Avey, Palanski and Walumbwa, 2011). Anorganisation will provide responsibility to the employees for taking decision which relates to thebenefit of the company.1.2 Relationship between organisation structure and culture impact on performance of businessThere are three level of management which are play an essential role in the effectivefunctioning of British airways. This is very necessary for the firm because they have more layersso that they gain experience and maintain seniority in the firm will increasing workers benefitsfor provide them promotions to high position. Organisation structure will determine how to flowthe accurate information from one level to another in the enterprise. Management makingdecisions are flow from one top level to down level in different sides of firm in effective manner.There are more and more job roles which are important for making differences between largerange of the firm. This is equally important for the firm is to make lower workforce who gainmajority of large number of people who feel valuable within an organisation.Management will play an vital role for managing and controlling all business activitiesand functions. The first most level of manager are supervisor who ensures that employees areshare all issue and problems with them and build relation in proper manner. The behaviour andattachment among employees and managers assist them in encouraging towards work and theydo not feel alone at any time (Bolino and et. al., 2013). The organisation culture of Britishairways will focus on that drawbacks in hierarchical structure which is reduces and maximise theefficiency which can attain from the employees so that it will get accurate outcome of eachperformance. Company culture always help in satisfy the employees and inspire them fororganising different training sessions for their workers in effective manner. It can assist firm formake their employees effort less while doing work and also improve performance of workerswithin an organisation.1.3 Explain factors influencing an individual behaviour at workplaceThere are certain factors which mainly effect employees behaviour at British Airlines thatare discussed as under:2
