ORGANIZATIONAL BEHAVIORS
Week 6: Motivation
In order to achieve any goals, related to an organization or any business in terms of success,
motivation plays an essential ingredient in it. Hence, motivation can lift the rate of success in
a significant manner. As per McClumpha (2019), nowadays, the authorities of the airport are
engaging themselves in the promotion of the security officers as the ambassador of the airport
to offer them a secure and enjoyable experience. Every item that people bring has to be
checked by security before travelling as per the demands of travelling threats. The security
screening staffs do so by using a screening X-ray machine. In order to prevent any
considerable risks that may occur in future, the security in the aviation authority must engage
themselves in a higher level of concentration.
As opined by Abeyratne (2018), the objective of motivation is significantly related to their
works as the impact of poor motivation can dramatically reduce their functionality in terms of
their performance. On the other hand, the production, behaviours and their attitudes related to
their working domains can be significantly improved through a positive, motivated workforce
beneficially, as the cost efficiency and the effectiveness of security is supported and provided
by itself. The performance of the security assessment workers can be appreciated by giving
appropriate rewards to motivate them rather than only paying them. The authority must
engage themselves in listening to any compliance from the security they may have. A better
environment related to the work must be provided to the security assessment of the airport.
Since, a crucial work is provided by them, without which the aviation may face a
considerable amount of danger.

ORGANIZATIONAL BEHAVIORS
Week 7: Group Behaviour and the Team at Work
A psychologist named Bruce Truckman developed five stages of team development in 1965.
The various stages include forming stage, storming stage, norming stage, performing an
action and adjourning stage.
1. Forming Step
The forming stage is the first stage of team development in which the formation or
orientation of the team occurs. The forming step is essential in team development as it helps
the team members to understand and recognize the role and responsibility of the group.
Various discussions about the member's background, skills, interests, their timelines are
conducted among the members in this stage (Fiore and Georganta, 2017).
2. Storming stage
In the storming stage, the members face disagreements or conflicts with the other members
since the weight and reality of the completion of the task creates a possible indication
regarding that. The members might be involved in a disagreement or argue about others point
of view. The leader must remind the members that these disagreements are reasonable.
3. Norming stage
In this third stage of team development, the members start to appreciate and notice the
strengths of other members. This stage comes after the storming stage, that is opposite to this
stage in which the members starts working as a team without focusing on individual goals.
4. Performing stage
In the performing stage, the team members stay confident, familiar and motivated towards the
project work as they start to co-operate without any supervision.
5. Adjourning stage
The adjourning stage is an emotional stage that is experienced by the team members. This
stage occurs after the completion of the project work. Sometimes, this stage is referred to as
the mourning stage, as the members feel loss since they are going apart (Campbellsville,
2019).
