1PROFESSIONAL SKILLS1.Summary of Professional SkillsMy best role is working in an event industry. I am interested to work as an eventmanager in any event industry. This is so because I have skills in planning,organizing and managing all types of events. The event industry involves a lot oftravelling which excites me to become an event manager. The salary structure ofevent industries is quite high. On an average, an event manager earns £34,006 permonth. Such an amount motivates me to work in an event industry (Bouchon etal. 2017). The event industry is very competitive and hence I am keen to exercisesuch skills of mine.After a thorough research and conducting few interviews, I have observed andlearned that a person must have these following professional skills to become anevent manager. Having a good management sense, leadership qualities, must becreative and innovative, should have good communication and interpretation,interpersonal skills, time management skills. I also noticed that to become anevent manager, one must have the skill of passion and eagerness. Therefore, Iexamined that these are the mandatory skills that are needed to become an eventmanager (Block 2016). Working in an event industry will be easier and fun if suchskills are inbuilt. The skills of an event manager make the event successful. Organizational skills,negotiation skills, problem solving ability, capability to work under pressure,flexibility, high level of attentiveness, ability to carry out tasks on time, promotethe sales and events, must be able to deal with project management, selfmotivation and enthusiasm (Jones 2014). Event industries hire event managers who qualify by having these skills. 2.Evaluation of Student Group EffectivenessWhile working in a group I like to be cooperative because that makes the taskeasier and hassle free. I also supported the members of my group so that thetask is completed on time. Even when rifts and misapprehension occurs in thegroup, I try to adjust and solve the confusion. Working in a group improvesthe teamwork and communication skills. I try to contribute more productivityin the team so that the task or work is done smoothly. I also acted responsiblewhen I was given the opportunity to work in the group and did well. While working in a group, every member faces some kind of difficulty or theother. I faced an issue when the task given was not being completed on time.Therefore, I contributed extra effort and time by helping the other members tocomplete the work on time. The other challenges that were faced during mywork were conflicts among the members, work not being distributed equallyand less coordination from the other members. I have dealt with thesechallenges by being responsible, coordinating and understanding. I also actedas a leader by resolving the conflicts and made peace among the members. I was being over-ambitious while working in the group, as I am passionateabout being an event manager in future. To be an event manager I must beable to work the way I did in my group with all the existing members.Leadership quality and time management will help me work as an eventmanager later (Sekaran and Bougie 2016).
