CE 3.2.1 Characteristics of the project
The development of Command of Military Works Airbase was undertaken by Al Jaber
Road and Transport subdivision of the Al Jaber Group in Abu Dhabi, UAE. The client of this
project was the UAE Armed Force. The total cost of this project was AED 180 million. The Al
Jaber Road and Transport subdivision is known for delivering high quality infrastructure and
construction projects. The scope of the project included construction of a new runway and
installation of latest technologies for the landing of fighter jets. This project was also about using
latest technologies for developing a remote controlling system for the Military Airbase project.
The subcontractor of this project was Bayant Engineering.

CE 3.2.3 My area of work
I was assigned as the planning engineer under the project control team of Al Jaber Roads
and Transport, and I had to apply my knowledge of engineer and project management together to
the field as I have done my Master’s in Project Management. I had to assist the Senior Planning
Engineer and the Project Control Manager with reports on a monthly and weekly basis and my
area of work was confined to the electronic and electrical system, installation of advanced
technologies to the military runway and integrated networking. I had to study the working
principles of all the required components such as radar and automated landing system. I had to
make sure that we deliver an economically viable and safe project for the UAE Armed Forces. I
had to work under the supervision of the project control team. I had to supervise the activities of
the team members, coordinate with the construction team, monitor the progress of work, prepare
documents, provide control measures, create baseline schedules and sequence the project
activities. One of my main areas of work was to mitigate any design issue and raise requests for
the required information.
