Characteristics
Kids who are securely attached commonly become noticeably sad when the caregivers leave
them and feel joyful when their parents came back to home. When scared, these kids generally
seek relief from their parent or caregiver. Interaction started by a parent is willingly recognized
by the securely attached kids and they receive the homecoming of a parent with heathy or happy
behaviour. Whereas these kids can be consoled to some level by other individuals in the
nonexistence of their parent or care provider, they openly prefer parents over strangers (Aslan,
2017).

Factors of healthy attachment
Child temperament
Babies are different in the concentration of their response to stimulation. It is basically
the child's expression or reactivity of emotions. Differences in the temperament can influence
actively level, sociability, adaptability, reaction intensity, persistence and mood of the child. The
child temperament is the main influential factor in the development of attachment between child
and primary caregiver (Cyr, Pasalich, McMahon& Spieker, 2014).

Adult’s behaviours
Some of the characteristics of adults like getting angry easily tend to be introverted,
distractible while spending time with the baby, and being anxious, can impacts the children
negatively, therefore they need to be attentive, careful and lovable to the children.
Child-caregiver interaction
Regular Interaction between the baby and primary caregiver is really important to build a
healthy attachment. The children recognise the person who spends more time with them and
when there is no interaction between them, the child may cry as he or she thinks that the
caregiver is no longer exist. Spending quality time with the child enhances the healthy mother-
child attachment (Fonagy, 2018).
Breastfeeding
If the primary caregiver is a mother, then this factor plays a key role in the attachment. It
has been established that breastfeeding is a healthy source of attachment with the baby.
Wellbeing of both child and caregiver
When the baby suffers from any type of health difficulty, they keep crying most of the
time, and this may impact the bond between the child and caregiver. Same happens, when the
caregiver is not well he or she will not be able to focus on child (Umemura, Jacobvitz, Messina,
& Hazen, 2013).
