1. Introduction
Student attendance increases the interest of the student in the specified task that could gain
probabilities of getting higher grades in their examination (Rissanen, 2018). The main
purpose of this study is to address the relationship between attendance and student grades.
This study will rely on secondary data. The introduction section of this report demonstrates
the project objectives and scope of the project. The literature review section supports to
increase understanding about the current research issue. Further, it discusses the research
methodology that demonstrates qualitative as well as quantitative data collection method. In
last, research limitation and research timeframe are discussed that could be imperative in
getting a quality outcome.
2. Project Objective
The main purpose of this study is to address the relationship between attendance and student
grades. The objectives of this research are discussed below:
 To comprehend attendance and student grades
 To explore the relationship between attendance and student grades.
 To understand strategies that could be used by teachers to increase attendance as well
as student grades
3. Project Scope
This research supports to theoretically understand how student attendance influences grades
of the student. Moreover, it is also evaluated that the researcher also gained their
understanding of qualitative and quantitative data analysis tool as it would be imperative to
meet the aim and objectives of the research matter systematically. The research skills could
be imperative to effectively conduct the research in future.

4. Literature review
Summarise Assignment 1
From Assignment 1, it can be summarized that many universities want to decline absentees
from the class to improve grades of students. Further, it is analysed that North Arizona
University use modern tools and technologies with respect to tracking the attendance of
students. Moreover, the university uses student response systems as it permits to comprehend
student attendance and improve their grades. In addition, it also realized that the major
benefits of attending the lecture are that students have the capacity to understand many
concepts that lead them to obtain higher marks in their examination (Louis, et al., 2016).
Moreover, it also supports students to comprehend the importance of the chapters as it will
allow the researcher to gain their knowledge about the specified research matter. It is also
addressed that teachers use many tools and techniques and inspire students for attending the
class and obtain reliable outcome (Tangney, Boone and Baumeister, 2018). The class
attendance could be imperative in improving grades. It demonstrates that there is a positive
relationship between the attendance of student and their grades. Moreover, once a student has
missed college then lose their opportunity to learn new things as it would impact on their
personality as well as an obtained result (Entwistle and Ramsden, 2015).
Research justification
This research was emphasized on determining the relationship between eh student attendance
and their marks that could be imperative in getting a result. Further, it enables the researcher
to understand the significance of motivation in increasing attendance level of students
together with improving the obtained result. Thus, this research will be imperative to
understand many research techniques as it would be effective to conduct the research in the
upcoming period.
