In this paper, discussion will be made on the key challenges relates with retaining and attracting
workers. The first phase of the essay will emphasize on the challenges in context of attracting
and retaining the workers in the telecom sector. It has been analyzed that attrition rate in the
telecom sector is high which is also affecting the success of companies. It is noticed that it is
necessary to control the attrition rate so that it could be easy to accomplish set targets in the
competitive market. By focusing on the graph, it can be examined that telecom sector is also
have the high attrition rate. In 2011, the attrition rate is high due to which the organizations face
problems at the time of attracting and retaining the workers in telecom sector (Goswami, 2012).

The challenges that are faced by the telecom sector when attracting and retaining the workers.
According to different researchers, it is stated by (Goswami, 2012), that to induce and retain
workers in telecom sector is one of a challenging job of management. It is necessary to focus on
the effective methods so that attrition rate can be reduced. One of challenges in relation to
attracting and retaining the workers relates to diversity and equity issues. In can be seen that
telecom sector has to face the challenge in relation equality and diversity. Diversity affects the
company’s performance and also impact the workers efficiency.
According to Noe, Hollenbeck, Gerhart & Wright (2017), to induce workers for organizational
advantage can be the problem as there is no process that is followed by organizations. It is

evaluated that lack of professional attitude and self-respect also affect growth and profits of
organization. This has enhanced the organizations to emphasize on deciding that can assist to
induce the consumers in relation to the activities of the organization. It can be seen that challenge
is concerned with the telecom sector is due to competition level. Competition level in the market
has been enhanced and due to this the overall affect has been seen on the brand image of
organization. Competition level in the telecom sector is so high that it creates issue at the time of
attracting the workers towards the organizational operations. The employees has the various
opportunities in the telecom sector ad due to this it create difficulty for the telecom companies to
attract the workers towards the services (Cloutier, Felusiak, Hill & Pemberton-Jones, 2015).This
has also affected the retention rate and attrition rate of the workers. It is necessary for the
organization to reduce this challenge so that growth can be achieved in the market. So, it can be
said that due to competition level in the company has faced the challenge of retaining the
workers.
Lack of satisfaction among the staffs is the challenge that impacts the retention and also
attraction rate in relation to the employees. It is observed that in the telecom sector, the needs of
the workers have been enhanced as due to this the satisfaction level of the employees has been
reduced. Also, one of the reasons behind the challenge relates to attraction and retention of the
workers in which the telecom sector has ineffective planning due to which the company has to
suffer from the problem related to attraction and retention of the workers. When the planning is
not there then it creates difficulties for the employees to give their best towards the
organizational activities (Connell, Nankervis & Burgess, 2015). So, it can be said that it is major
problem that is faced by organizations in relation to the retaining the workers. The management
faces the issue in retaining the employees only due to ineffective planning considered by the
company. Therefore, the lack of satisfaction creates challenge for the management in retaining
and attracting the employees.
It is analyzed that that the challenge relates to leadership issues that organization faces on the
international platform. Talent management, pay and rewards are the major problems that are
entertained in the telecom sector and it is seen that this issue affect the motivation level of the
workers. It is analyzed that the problem is related with the workforce diversity that also affects
the output and the market share on global level. By not having the proper strategic planning then
