a. Value of project management for New Zealand based business organization
The project management is measured as the important approach for managing various
projects as well as its deliverables in order to produce the final products or outcomes. This
principle helps to achieve the expected business outcomes in any organizations (Kerzner,
2017). In the case of New Zealand organizations, this principle is applicable in same way for
achieving the ultimate business outcomes. For the New Zealand organizations, the project
management approach is utilized for identifying the business requirements as well as
establishing the particular business objectives, harmonizing competitive demands from
various stakeholders and therefore it must ensure that these all of them help to achieve the
overall business outcomes. In that case, due to the traffic congestion as well as choked roads,
it needs to build a State highway network including lanes for cycling or footpaths for
pedestrians and to execute this project, the project management is too much indispensable
section.
A set of projects belonging in New Zealand organizations which helps to meet their
business production (Meredith, Mantel Jr & Shafer, 2017). For that, there needs a particular
approach by which they can able to achieve the success in their businesses. According to the
analysis, it has been assumed that in the field of executing various projects, New Zealand
organizations have faced lots of issues including short schedule, uncertainty budget or
changes in requirements etc. In that case, the project management is measured as a special
methodology by which the organizations can overcome from these situation (Heagney, 2016).
Fundamentally, the short schedule is specified as a difficult situation for the project manager

for finishing the project. If the manager can able to complete the project within the short
schedule, in that case, there is a chance of occurrence of deteriorate the project quality. Other
situations like requirement change or increasing budget are the sign of distracting the project
from the feasibility track. However, the project management includes such four steps like
initiation, planning, execution and also closing. In addition to this, there exists various tools
by which the organizations can control their project scheduling or project budget and other
parameters.
Depending on the research, it has assumed that the most of people evolving almost
74% of the people utilizes private vehicles and a few percentages of people use the other
modes of traffic including bus or train or bicycling etc. (Walker, 2015). For that, the
Auckland city has faced problems regarding traffic congestion or choked roads etc. In that
case, the traffic management which is almost similar as project management helps to avoid
these kinds of issues by implementing such techniques traffic signals, real time traffic update,
creating footpaths for pedestrians etc.
b. Project management skills for solving the problems due to Auckland Transport
From the case study, it has known that Auckland is considered as largest city in New
Zealand and also considers as main centre for transportation. Due to having a large range of
population, the city has confronted various traffic issues including choked roads or traffic
congestion and also traffic jams (Mir & Pinnington, 2014). Moreover, these issues are
considered as the biggest concern for Auckland. Thus, the traffic controlling organization of
Auckland has decided to take the methodology of project management by which they can
able to control these issues.
Fundamentally, the project management is an important method by which various
critical project related issues are solved. Within the methodology of project management,
there exists various skills including leadership, communication, risk management, critical
thinking, cost management etc. The leadership is one of the most vital project management
based skill by which the followers may be inspired towards the success of any projects (Aga,
Noorderhaven & Vallejo, 2016). As compared with the case study, at the time of traffic
