Agriculture in Australia has gone down as compared to the other segments in the budget.
The sector still has influence in the economic growth and also in its exports. Production has
moved away from animals towards crops in the recent past. This has affected the manner in
which drought influences the total output of the farm. Farmers are directly affected and this goes
all the way to the general community since the economy is also affected adversely once the
agricultural production goes down (Gillis , Perkins , & Roemer , 2013, p. 56).
Agricultural sector is known to have much influence on macro economy. Over the past
decade, it counted for just 2.5 % in the nominal GDP which was a relatively small count.
Variations in weather can be a primary cause in the agricultural production and this has
significant effects on the GDP (Vanessa , Nicholas , & Nick , 2010, p. 48). The essence of this
story will generally be to see the trends in the agricultural production in India and how they
affect the economy of the country. The issue is addressed to the government to see whether they
can come up with alternative ways of improving the agricultural sector (Willer , Lernoud , &
Home , 2012, p. 36).
The issue of agriculture can be well demonstrated by use of the past trends in production
and the past contribution of agriculture in the economy. The use of patterns to show the average
annual change in the agricultural production would be the best approach to address the issue of
agricultural sector. For instance, in the last 20 years, the agricultural production has been noted
to be adding up or going down by just 0.5 % growth from its annual GDP growth (Lockie &
Halpin, 2014, p. 143). Currently, rainfall in most parts of the country has been adequate and this
is a clear indication that agricultural production will increase and hence boost agriculture. The
graph below will discuss how production in the farms changes during droughts.

(Gillis , Perkins , & Roemer , 2013, p. 154).
The value of firm production in 2009/2010 in the agricultural production was $23 billion
and this was a representation of 2% in the nominal gross domestic product. Agricultural
production in India has gone down in the last 50 years. Data from the Australian Bureau of
Agricultural resource Economics and Sciences (.ABARES), 10% of the Australian workforce or

more was employed in the agricultural sector. The latter was approximately 440,000 and it
compares to 325,000 people who were employed in the sector in 2010 and that was a big drop
(Matsuyama, 2014, p. 260). The share of agricultural related machine has also gone down in the
last 20 years by 20%.noentheless, the agricultural sector still counts a lot in the exports for the
Australian economy and particularly the export sector.
The firm products can be represented in form of crops and other products related to
livestock.in the last 30 years, the agricultural production has increased from 1.5% to over 1.5%
(Lockie & Halpin, 2014, p. 143) .the underlying cause to the latter is the increase in the
importance of crops. The share of meat production in livestock has also increased when we
compare it to the other products in livestock like wool and dairy.
(Matsuyama,
2014, p. 132).
The rural exports have been unchanged despite the notable increase in the farm
production in the past decade. This divergence can be used to show a reflection on the increase in
the domestic consumption of grains and also decrease in the growth in those industries. The
composition of exports has shifted from livestock towards crops.
