Article One
In this article, the author has discussed the issues that concerns with the indigenous
cultures. However, the religious matters of indigenous and aboriginal people of Australia have
not been discussed here properly. All the things have not been discussed in this article since it
would be inappropriate to judge the article by only looking at the Christian roots and ignoring the
religious beliefs of indigenous aboriginal Australians. The cultural roots and education of the
aboriginal Australians have not been properly discussed in this article.
There are some taken-for-granted assumptions among the native Australians that they do
not take the needs and desires if indigenous people very seriously. The readers already have a
view about indigenous people since Prime Minister Tony Abbott has already made it clear that
more focus in Christianity should be given. Readers already know that aboriginal indigenous
people already have their own traditional religion that they follow and Christian traditions are not
followed by them including prayers.
In this article, the differences between the indigenous people and non-indigenous people
of Australia have been found. It is quite sure that the overall relationship between these people is
not good enough. This is why Tony Abbott said that they are showing respect to aboriginal
culture at the expense of their Christian prayers. This means showing respect to the indigenous
cultures is not that much significant for them. In this article, the non-indigenous people are
positioned at a better place. Indigenous people have not been shown the proper respect that they
deserve.
The viewpoint being presented in this article is completely non-indigenous in nature.
They have been given a better place in the society ignoring the rights of indigenous people. The

main message of the article is contradicted with the indigenous perspective that the author wants
to give. It is because indigenous people have been deprived of their rights in many ways in this
society. Therefore, the rights of indigenous people and perspectives regarding their education
have been completely ignored in some cases.
The non-indigenous people will be happy when they interpret the message given in this
article. They will feel that they are given more importance than indigenous people. Their rights
to education and better learning about Western literature have been acknowledged in this article.
On the contrary, indigenous people will not be able to learn the gospel stories and aspects of
political correctness in education system will not be much helpful for them. However, the
message of everyone being equal in Australia will be a ray of hope for them.

The article has provided very good information about the status of indigenous Australians
in the society. This has been a debate on celebrating Australia Day on January 26 ignoring the
diminishing rights of indigenous people in the country. The history of indigenous people has
been properly discussed in this article and current status of Australian aboriginal people has been
highlighted as well. Much necessary information has been provided in this article. It seems that
no credible information has been missed from the part of the author.
Some of administrative people in the government are of the assumption that they deserve
the ultimate rights in Australia and the rights of indigenous Australians can be overlooked as
well. These people have often viewed the rights of indigenous Australians in a taken-for-granted
manner. The readers of the article do have a view of the status of indigenous people in Australia.

This is why they believe indigenous people should be provided with best facilities along with
non-indigenous people. The status of indigenous Australians should be evaluated again.
In this article, the relationship between the indigenous and non-indigenous people has
been highlighted. It can be understood that some people have bitterness towards these indigenous
aboriginal people but they are gaining prominence in the business sector in the country. The
author has given focus on the fact there are positive sides in the engagements between
indigenous and non-indigenous people. The Australia Day is a black day for indigenous people
but this tragedy has to be deleted from their history so they can get a better future. If they vow to
come out of this issue, it would be a matter of rejoice for them.
There is a very strong indigenous viewpoint in this article. The perspectives of the author
have supported the main message of the article. It is because the main message of this article
focuses on the development of the indigenous people as their rights have been ignored and they
were deprived of basic education system for a long time.
The readers can interpret these ideas related to indigenous and non-indigenous people by
understanding that Australian Federal Government needs to put stress on improving the
condition of indigenous people. Then only they can progress towards celebrating 26th January as
National Day of Australia with happiness and mirth. The rights of indigenous Australians will
motivate them to initiate their own business and attending schools to improve literacy rates.
