Designing Auto Rickshaw Cover, Seat and Body Parts with Jute Material to Achieve Sustainable Development Goal of Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure

GROUP PRESENTATION

INTRODUCTION
 The Sustainable Development Goal (SDGs) is the list of 17 global goals which is
designed in order to achieve a better as well as more sustainable future for all.
 The presentation will cover the designing of a products that the entity will going
to produce and sell to its customer that will support Goal 9 of UN sustainable
development goal of Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure.
 The entity will be going to produce and sell the Auto Rickshaw cover, seat as well
as the body parts which is basically made up of Jute material with the aim of
achieving the goal of sustainable development.

Discussion of selected SDG goal and key issues
being addressed through group presentation
 SDG goal: The sustainable development goal has
been selected for the purpose of designing of
Auto Rickshaw cover, seat and body parts
product made of jute is industry, innovation and
infrastructure.
 The target of this sustainable development goal is
to promote the sustainable and inclusive
industrialization within the country.

 Key Issue being addressed: With the help of this group presentation, the issues related to sustainable development and
environmental protection is being addressed.
 In the present world, there are various products which is made of natural resources and their production process are harming
the environment.
 Thus, the group presentation has selected the products which is made up of jute with the help of which the environment will
be protected as jute is durable, has low CO2 footprints, low water footprints, 100% compostable etc.

Process of designing the product in line with HCD
principles
Research Goal-
 Our main goal is to develop such Auto rickshaw covers, belt and body
parts which can replace plastic based products.
 We want to enhance such products in the market.
 In the beginning it has been pondered over, that what is the burning need
of market and how it can be fulfilled with greater efforts.

Research
Defining the product-
 The entity is striving to produce Auto Rickshaw cover, seat and body part
made by jute.
Research-
 A survey was conducted to know the likes and dislikes of users.
 In survey around 500 people participated and it was conducted in the
capital of Bangladesh so can understand the potential customers and their
behaviour.
 They have shown interest to use such products.

 Social media platforms will be used to extend views to customers, online website, Instagram, WhatsApp, Facebook
is to be used for conversation.
 The Price would be 10% plus to the generated cost in the initial phase latter on will be shifted.
 Jute body parts are having their higher prices in the market but it is essential to offer it with least profitability.

 The main concept was chosen at this stage.
 Elements like layouts, edits, composition, refinement are taken into consideration.
Compiling specification-
 HCD principle says that lead the needs of users so at this stage the idea got shaped keeping specification in
mind.

Producing the Factory Samples-
 Then for sample distribution purpose the product got developed on a small
scale.
Sample Testing-
 The HCD principle upholds the notion to identity the customers so the
potential customers got identified and for making them aware of the
product, samples were distributed.

Starting production-
 Now the time is arrived to go for production stage.
 After sample testing, the feedbacks were taken into knowledge and were processed in order to augment the
value and satisfy the needs of customers.

Quality Assurance-
 The all stages of the product development had been carried out
paying server attention.
 It was assured form beginning that the product must revert the best
quality to the customers.
 Environmental moralities must be upheld, with this regard Jute is
being used as raw material which is environment friendly
component.

Presentation of prototype-
The prototype has been presented as-
 The company will be producing Auto Rickshaw cover, seat, and
body parts.
 This would be its type of unique and limited addition product,
which is going to to be produced using jute as row material.
 So by following “Cost Leadership Model” the organization will be
making profit.

 If talk about personal profits, then “cost reduction” and “augmentation of product value” are some methods by using them
can make higher personal profits.
 At the same time for hiking personal profits would be forming partnership or other forms of collaborative techniques in the
future.

element so here new methods of costing would be applied.
 Customer interest is looking good and favourable, since
while executing user research it has been closely observed.
 It is utterly a new and unique product which is not being
produced by majority of seat and cover making companies.

 It will be reducing use of plastic so can surge the environmental morality
 Plastic is being used on vast scale and having greater durability so how
the jute based seat covers will get such strong market place its hyper use
will uphold sustainability.
 It is utterly a green product since jute is the key row material for
production.

CONCLUSION
 After summing up the above information, it has been concluded that the Auto Rickshaw cover, seat and body parts
made up of jute is the product that entity will going to produce in order to achieve the sustainable development goal of
industry, innovation and infrastructure.
 The presentation has been also concluded that the issue related to environmental harming, low employment rate and
low gross domestic products will be addressed through this group presentation.

The venue would be online platform so Zoom will be used.
Team members present All the team members came in the meeting. All 8 members of the team were present.
Minutes of group meeting The main purpose of the meeting to discuss the business and how it was going.
A group meeting was conducted, the purpose was to bring a well- structured deliberation to make strong attention on various issues and how they can be
eradicated to bring better to the customers.
In the meeting main discussion was about market share and how to get the market penetrated.
A few things were decided with timeline.
There were different tasks were allotted to people.
The first task was given to marketing department; they were supposed to reach at least one lac people by the end of sixth month.
Then R&D department was assigned the task to bring such jute seat cover which can last for longer by the end of ninth month.
The Production department was given the task to produce around 25000 units in the first three months.
The first task was achieved with greater success and entity reached more than 150000 potential customers which has been a great matter of proud.
There has been issues with the task assigned to R&D but it can be perceived their task is a bit complicated and having need to be given more time.
The last task of producing the intended units has been successfully accomplished.
In the meeting some relevant aspects such as future of the entity and customer feedbacks were also discussed.
The pricing policy got evaluated that weather the pricing was appropriate or there was any need to make changes.
So altogether it can be concluded that the meeting has been well diversified and notched up all relevant issues.
